We might have all thought that Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) was the self-appointed leader of the so-called “Squad“, but her BFF Rep. Rashida Tlaib (MI) let everyone know in an interview on Tuesday who was the real boss.

Ocasio-Cortez, Tlaib, and Reps. Ilhan Omar (MN) and Ayanna Pressley (MA) were interviewed by CBS This Morning‘s Gayle King on the recent controversy surrounding Trump’s Sunday tweets, as well as the public infighting between the Queenie Quartet, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, and the Congressional Black Caucus.

King turned to Ocasio-Cortez in particular to find out if a direct meeting was in the works between her camp and Pelosi’s. But before she could finish answering, Tlaib interrupted and put the onus on Pelosi to be the one calling for the meetings. And because she’s her own worst enemy, Tlaib pulled an AOC and played the WOC/danger card on the House Speaker:

Ocasio-Cortez said she agrees and then Tlaib interjected in an attempt to shield Ocasio-Cortez, saying they are “new members of congress.” She then said she was “very protective” of Ocasio-Cortez, prompting King to fire back.

“With all due respect, she doesn’t need protection,” King said.

“She’s the new member, not the speaker,” Tlaib said, referring to Ocasio-Cortez. “She has every right to sit down with her in any moment, anytime, with any of us. She is speaker of the House, she can ask for a meeting to sit down with us for clarification.”

Tlaib went on to offer some advice to Pelosi about being aware of the repercussions of singling out women of color.

“The fact of the knowledge is, and I’ve done racial justice work in our country for a long time, acknowledge the fact that we are women of color, so when you do single us out, be aware of that, and what you’re doing,” Tlaib continued. “Especially because some of us are getting death threats. Because some of us are being singled out in many ways because of our backgrounds, because of our experiences and so forth.”

Watch video of Tlaib rushing to steal the attention from AOC below:

First of all, King is right. Ocasio-Cortez doesn’t need “protection” from journalists during an interview. If these women are truly the Fierce Resistance Warriors™ they paint themselves out to be, they don’t need interference from fellow Squad members when answering questions.

Secondly, isn’t it just like the petulant child Tlaib is to sulk and say, in a nutshell, if Pelosi has issues with them they she should be the one calling the meeting? What utter nonsense. If Tlaib and company have an issue with Pelosi’s mild public criticisms of them, then they need to put on their big girl panties and knock on her door themselves.

Isn’t that what a real Resistance Warrior would do?

More troubling than Tlaib’s childishness are her dangerous double standards on who should and should not be allowed to speak out when they have issues with other Democrats:

The piece I referenced on Tlaib’s comments on Chelsea Clinton was from back in March. When Chelsea Clinton was verbally ambushed in New York City during a service for the New Zealand mosque victims, Tlaib had not one ounce of sympathy for her. In fact, Tlaib said that Clinton – who had called out Omar’s anti-Semitism – should be “very, very careful” in what she says, but that Omar should be able to speak freely.

It was a very disturbing segment. Watch it here.

I’ve long believed that Tlaib is the most dangerous of this bunch, and the shutuppery games she continues to play only validate that view, in my opinion.

On the flip side, Tlaib and her clueless cohorts have managed to help turn the spotlight back on to their feud with Pelosi. Well done, ladies. Keep talking.
