As Red State‘s Bonchie wrote Saturday, Quillette editor and independent journalist Andy Ngo was viciously attacked by a mob of Antifa thugs during a Saturday demonstration in Portland, Oregon.
A brief recap via Fox News:
At least three people were arrested and several others were reported injured, as members of Antifa and other leftist groups clashed with members of the Proud Boys and other conservatives around downtown Portland, Ore., on Saturday, police said.
One of those injured was Andy Ngo, a conservative writer who appeared to have been attacked by Antifa members, the Oregonian reported. Ngo later posted a photo of himself from a hospital, with bruises, cuts and scratches on his face.
Some of the demonstrators turned violent, throwing milkshakes said to be mixed with quick-drying cement, raw eggs and pepper spray. The gatherings were deemed “civil disturbance and unlawful assembly” by the Portland Police Bureau and the perpetrators were believed to include members of both sides.
Ngo, who is well-known for documenting Antifa violence and questioning mainstream media standards, was unfortunately badly injured in the attacks, which Twitchy documented here.
Fortunately, per Ngo’s attorneys, he has been cleared to leave the hospital and will share his full story soon:
Good news! @MrAndyNgo has been cleared to leave the hospital! He’ll have more to say in coming days about what happened to him & others yesterday in Portland. He is very thankful for the overwhelming support from decent people, especially @michellemalkin & donors. pic.twitter.com/gK3ZEHfRyE

In the midst of all the back and forth over the weekend about what happened to Ngo and others on the ground who were at the demonstration to capture Antifa’s violence on video, several Twitter users started posting flashbacks to when broadcast journalists and their liberal guests defended Antifa’s thuggish tactics. In some cases, Antifa was compared to WWII heroes who stormed the Normandy beaches.
In response, Tom Elliott posted a video montage of mainstream media reporters and liberal commentators rushing to stand up for Antifa:

Nick Fondacaro from Newsbusters also posted a lengthy Twitter thread recapping the numerous instances of journalists and their liberal guests defending Antifa’s militant tactics. Here are just a few of his many tweets on the issue:
Let's start with @NBCNews political director @chucktodd. He first gave Antifa a platform on his weekday show #MTPDaily. He allowed Antifa propagandist and lecturer Mark Bray to lie about the organization's roots and romanticize their violence

In that instance, the Southern Poverty Law Center (a group that has spurred politically motivated violence, including a shooting, against right-wing organizations) was somehow the voice of reason against Antifa.

Then, on the anniversary of the deadly Charlottesville protests (and almost the anni. of @chucktodd's interview with Bray) @NBCNews reporter Cal Perry and his crew were physically assaulted by Antifa while covering new protests in Charlottesville.

Meanwhile, in Perry's video, a member of Antifa could be heard shouting "F**k you, snitch a** news b**ch. F**k you." And tried to either pull the camera away or knock it to the ground. "We’re getting a lot of this. Protesters trying to grab our camera," Perry said in a tweet.

“There's a lot of about what-aboutism and spin going on. And it's kind of sickening to me,” @ChrisCuomo argued, “But I argue to you tonight, all punches are not equal morally."

By the end of the month, Cuomo fellow @CNN host and close friend, @donlemon was also rationalizing Antifa's violence. He would go a step further and claim that President Trump's denouncement of the group was somehow racist.https://t.co/7ICCqgyCVi

(cont'd) "…One, racists, fascists, the other group fighting racists, fascists, there is fascists. There is a distinction there," @donlemon argued on behalf of Antifa.

Keep all of this in mind the next time mainstream media types and Democrats try to lecture you about how we must restore civility in the public discourse.
