I thought I’d seen it all when it came to Democrat women infantilizing the abortion debate, but what happened on the floor of the U.S. House today just might take the cake.
Roll Call reports:
A routine House debate nearly exploded Wednesday when California Democrat Norma J. Torres implied her Republican colleagues were “sex-starved males” for opposing abortion.
“Mr. Speaker, it is tiring to hear from so many sex-starved males on this floor talk about a woman’s right to choose,” Torres said as lawmakers debated a rule setting up amendment consideration for a four-bill spending package that includes funding for public health programs.
Torres, one of the newest members of the House Rules Committee, clearly broke House Rules — members cannot personally impugn their colleagues on the floor.

Unsurprisingly, Torres is being praised and virtually high-fived on social media by The Usual Suspects™ as a “national hero” for her remarks, but in reality she’s just the latest on a long list of Democratic women (and left-wing media types) who cheapen the debate by taking uncalled-for swipes at men who are pro-life.
Plus, isn’t this kinda like reverse sexism or something? Writer Jeryl Bier made an excellent point in this regard on Twitter earlier:
Those who believe that the inexcusably sexist attitudes of some men towards women are not present in some women towards men are deluding themselves. You can talk about "yeah, but who has the power?" all you want, and it's still just as wrong.

As I’ve written previously, La. Gov. John Bel Edwards (D) is pro-life for very personal reasons – reasons that have nothing to do with being “sex-starved.”
Not only that, but there are many other pro-life male politicians on both sides of the aisle who are also fathers. Some are brothers, uncles, nephews, cousins. They aren’t pro-life because they want to “control women.” Nor are they pro-life because they are “sex-starved.” They are pro-life because they can’t imagine life without their loved ones.
Democrats and their feminist allies want you to believe these men have “no standing” in the abortion debate. That’s just wrong. All voices matter in this debate.
The irony of it all is that Torres’s belief in abortion on demand benefits “sex-starved” liberal males who support a woman’s “right to choose” because it gets them off the hook.

Don’t look for that inconvenient fact to be mentioned by Torres on the House floor, though. Wouldn’t get her near the applause, “you go, girl!” praises, favorable media mentions, and likes/RTs.
