The Top 3 Reasons to be in Colorado in August

It’s hard to find a reason NOT to visit Colorado, especially in August.  For anyone looking to travel this summer, Colorado is a hard place to beat with practically every area in the state having an overabundance of attractions to keep tourists busy.

But for simplicity’s sake, here are the top 3 reasons to be in Colorado in August.

  1. The weather

August is arguably the best month for beautiful weather in Colorado.  The daily temperature average this time of year is in the mid-80s during the day and mid-60s at night, which is a great escape from the blazing heat for anyone in a southern state.

Daytime is sunny and comfortably warm.  And the nighttime weather provides the perfect excuse to sit on the patio and enjoy a few drinks.

  1. Outdoor attractions

Because the weather in Colorado in August is so sublime, you won’t find a shortage of attractions to keep you busy.  The Colorado Rockies play at Coors Field in Denver in the summer, and the ballpark is even home to the Blue Moon brewery, aptly named “The Sandlot.”

The Wild Animal Sanctuary features 720 acres of tigers, lions, wolves, bears, and other animals in an open habitat.  Guests are able to watch them interact with each other from unobstructed views using elevated walkways and observation decks.

And for those who enjoy the occasional adult beverage, there is the Mile High Wine Tour, which claims to be “the best way to enjoy Denver and celebrate any special occasion.”  There are also brewery tours and distillery tours of all kinds in the area.
