Kamala Harris' campaign manager Jen O’Malley Dillon sent a letter to staff indicating the Vice President spoke with Donald Trump to concede the election and laid out plans for the future.

The memo, obtained by Washington Post reporter Tyler Pager, had all the emotions of somebody who just lost a loved one.

Dillon recalled the substance of the conversation between Harris and Trump, assuring there would be a peaceful transfer of power and discussing the need for their opponent to be a President "for all Americans."

She complained that the entire operation was behind the eight-ball from the start, being forced to throw together a campaign in essentially 90 days (they had the infrastructure of Biden's campaign and a four-year track record to work with).

"You stared down unprecedented headwinds and obstacles that were largely out of our control," she lamented.

And that's when the eulogy, or the moment of remembrance, commenced.

"I'll leave you with this," she wrote. "Losing is unfathomably painful. It is hard. This will take a long time to process."

"But the work of protecting America from the impacts of a Trump Presidency starts now," Dillon declared.

As RedState reported moments ago, Kamala Harris finally called to concede the race to President-Elect Donald Trump. The substance of the conversation echoed the details Dillon revealed to the campaign staff in her email.

Harris though, has been sheltered from the public thus far. She is expected to finally deliver remarks at Howard University to her supporters after fleeing the scene last night. The speech is scheduled for 4PM Eastern time.

Last night, despite the race eventually being called for Trump relatively early, Dillon sent a notice out to Harris's supporters at a watch party at Howard indicating that Harris was tucking in for the night, and the fight would have to continue tomorrow.

"We feel good about what we’re seeing," Dillon said at that time, without evidence.

“This is what we’ve been built for, so let’s finish up what we have in front of us tonight, get some sleep, and get ready to close out strong tomorrow.”

Tomorrow came and quickly turned into 'unfathomable pain.'

The Trump campaign just issued a statement regarding the phone call between Trump and Harris.

"President Trump acknowledged Vice President Harris on her strength, professionalism, and tenacity throughout the campaign, and both leaders agreed on the importance of unifying the country," Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung stated.

Fox News is now reporting that President Biden also called Trump to congratulate him on the election.
