When Sen. Orrin Hatch (R – Utah) announced he was not running for re-election in 2018, effectively announcing his retirement after 40 years in the U.S. Senate, eyes immediately went to former Massachusetts governor and 2012 Republican presidential nominee, Mitt Romney.
Romney did not disappoint. Astute political reporters, like Bloomberg’s Sahil Kapur, quickly noticed a subtle indication that proves Romney is absolutely making a run for Hatch’s seat.
See if you can pick out the tell-tale sign.
See it?
Per Kapur’s tweet, his first screenshot was taken at 3:12 EST, while the second was taken almost 3 hours later at 5:45 EST, after Orrin Hatch’s retirememt announcement.
Suddenly Romney’s location went from Massachusetts to Holladay, Utah.
Oh, yeah. He’s definitely running…or conducting a great play of political intrigue. Smart money’s on the former.
