In the wake of the New York Times piece published today (see Jay Caruso’s piece here), the women groped by Trump keep coming out of the woodwork. Bill S just wrote about a third woman, Miss Washington 2013.
But wait! There’s more!
[T]he debate moderator, CNN’s Anderson Cooper, asked Trump to clarify: “Have you ever done those things?”
“No, I have not,’’ Trump replied.
Watching at home in Palm Springs, Fla., [Mindy] McGillivray said she rose from her couch and yelled at the TV screen: “‘You liar!’’’
McGillivray, 36, said she was groped by Trump at Mar-a-Lago 13 years ago. She said she never reported it to authorities.
But her companion that day, photographer Ken Davidoff, vividly remembers when McGillivray pulled him aside moments after the alleged incident and told him, ‘’Donald just grabbed my ass!’
. . . .
Asked about the possibility that what she felt was Trump or someone accidentally bumping into her, McGillivray said no. “This was a pretty good nudge. More of a grab,’’ she said. “It was pretty close to the center of my butt. I was startled. I jumped.’’
She talked about it with several members of her family at the time:
After the alleged groping incident, McGillivray never encountered Trump again. She said the incident is something she and her family and the Davidoffs would bring up periodically over the years, sometimes joking about it.’
The women are going to keep coming forward. The pattern is familiar to anyone who lived through the California recall election with Ahh-hold Schwarzenegger.
I won’t immediately assume the stories are true or false. Let’s see how they shake out.
But I know this: the Trumpers will immediately call them all liars out of one side of their mouths, without looking at any of the evidence — while, out of the other side of their mouths, they will continually bring up how Bill Clinton assaulted women . . . and called them liars.
Don’t look for consistency or morality in their defenses. Absolute Trumpism corrupts absolutely.
