Watch: Dems Lose Their Minds When Florida Legislature Delivers Big GOP Win on Congressional Maps

It's been a big day on the redistricting battle front.

As we reported earlier, the Supreme Court delivered a big decision in Louisiana v. Callais.

In the 6-3 decision, Justice Samuel Alito wrote the majority opinion, joined by Chief Justice John Roberts and Justices Clarence Thomas, Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh, and Amy Coney Barrett. The court held that the Voting Rights Act did not require Louisiana to draw a second majority-minority district. Without that requirement, the state had no compelling reason to use race in drawing its lines.

That will likely bring some big changes that the Democrats aren't going to like.

Now, there's also a big move in Florida. The Florida House just passed new Congressional maps, 83-28, which could result in four more seats for Republicans, and Democrats were not happy campers at all. Their screaming in the background is quite something, as the rest of the members cheer and clap.

BREAKING: The Florida State House just PASSED Gov. Ron DeSantis’ drawn 2026 Congressional map, 83-28

Republicans stand to gain up to +4 NEW SEATS

LFG! It now heads to the SENATE for final passage.

Democrats are FURIOUS: "So this is how Liberty dies." 🤣

Florida is RED, this map more accurately reflects that!

Get it done and get this passed into law!

It wasn't even a close vote. You even had one of the Democrats screaming into a bullhorn. They were not handling it well. They can't take it when the Republicans decide to serve them some of their own tactics. Were any of these people screaming about Virginia Democrats' efforts to redistrict to help themselves?

If approved, the proposal would overhaul several congressional districts, tilting the map more heavily in favor of Republicans. Areas like Tampa could lose Democratic representation altogether, while South Florida districts would also see changes that reduce Democratic-leaning seats.

Then shortly after passing the House, it also passed the Florida Senate, 21-17.

That's a big win for the Republican effort. It's likely to face legal challenge from the Democrats.

As we previously reported, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries was fuming over the effort that would counter Democrats' moves. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis trolled him a bit, inviting him to Florida and saying he would even put him up at the Governor's mansion if he wanted to come push the Democrats' case in Florida. DeSantis said it could only help Republicans.

I think it's fair to say people were enjoying the passage.
