Dick Cheney's Funeral Had People Talking About Who Was There - and Who Wasn't

Dick Cheney's funeral was held on Thursday at the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C.

Cheney served as Vice President under President George W. Bush from 2001 to 2009. He died on Nov. 3, at 84 years old, "due to complications from pneumonia and cardiac and vascular disease."

Bush and Cheney's daughter, Liz, gave the eulogies.

What got a lot of talk on social media about was who was there - and who wasn't.

Starting with the "who wasn't," President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance were not invited. Cheney and his daughter were big critics of Trump, and they supported Kamala Harris in her 2024 presidential run. Vance showed some class and wished them well during their time of grief.

I'm thinking going probably wasn't high on their list, after all the attacks from Cheney and his daughter.

Kamala Harris was there. She had to sit next to Joe and Jill Biden, which must have been interesting, especially given the negative comments she's made about him on her book tour. She had her finger up at him as though she was remonstrating with him. Also in the front row were Bush and his wife, and Mike Pence and his wife. Behind them were Al Gore and Dan Quayle. Then, behind them were members of Congress, including Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY), Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD), and Democrat Rep. Nancy Pelosi (CA-11).

The Washington Post's Dylan Wells posted some good pictures, noting members of the Jan. 6th Committee were there, including Sen. Adam Schiff (D-CA) and Democrat Rep. Jamie Raskin (MD-8).

Notice who else wasn't there? The Obamas or the Clintons. Bill Clinton had an "unavoidable scheduling conflict." The Obamas didn't even bother to explain, according to People. Barack did express condolences when Cheney died.

What I found most surprising was that Dr. Anthony Fauci, Rachel Maddow, and James Carville were also there, sitting with each other in the same row.

I thought the left thought he was evil, yet Maddow and Carville are still there. So I guess he became "un-evil" the minute that he became anti-Trump. Maddow called Cheney the "maestro of terror politics" in 2009.

CNN is reporting it was invite-only, so everyone there was asked.

Bush told a nice story of how he came to pick Cheney.
