Democrats are realizing that the Schumer Shutdown isn't turning out the way they would have liked.
They're not enacting their political agenda by holding the American people hostage. The Republicans' approval rating has improved, while the Democrats' generic ballot numbers are tanking as we head toward the midterms next year. And now they're beginning to crack and seek a way out of the box they trapped themselves in.
The shutdown is their fault, and they haven't done a good job at trying to blame the Republicans and President Donald Trump for it.

Even as they are voting to cut off paychecks for the military and federal employees, and cutting off SNAP payments, they are themselves taking paychecks. Can we talk about how gross that is? No wonder they think they can carry this on; it isn't hurting them personally.
Democrat House Minority Leader Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (NY-8) was put on the spot about it on Wednesday. But he punted and said they would be "discussing it."
House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries declined to say yet whether he will defer his paycheck during the shutdown

Even CNN's Kaitlan Collins asked him, and he put her off.
Hakeem Jeffries REFUSES to say if he plans to defer his paycheck—even after being given multiple chances by CNN’s Kaitlan Collins amid the ongoing government shutdown—while air traffic controllers, TSA agents, and other federal workers are NOT being paid right now.

Collins:… pic.twitter.com/R1ZzNX2Q6A
Collins: “Have you made a decision on [deferring your paycheck during the government shutdown]?”
Jeffries: “I’ll be commenting on that shortly.”
Collins: “That sounds like a yes?”
Jeffries: “Well, I have more to say on that shortly.”
Actually, Kaitlan that’s a NO.
It's already into the 30th day, Hakeem, and you're still deflecting and not giving a real answer. You can't even just say you'll do it yourself.
What is there to think or discuss when they are proving to be absolute hypocrites like this? But they are, so there's that.
Even though it's not the fault of Republicans, some, like Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), have deferred their checks in sympathy with federal workers.
As we reported three days ago, Sen. Ruben Gallego (D-AZ) said he could not afford to miss a paycheck and was "still evaluating."
Uh-huh, so their votes mean federal workers are missing their paychecks, but Jeffries and the other Democrats get to "evaluate" the question... for 30 days.

The Speaker of the House, Republican Rep. Mike Johnson (LA-4), laid into them: "They just don't care."
🚨 SPEAKER JOHNSON: "The largest federal workers union, AFGE, is BEGGING them to end the shutdown. They know the pain — missed paychecks, delayed flights, rising costs."

"Democrats know it too. THEY JUST DON’T CARE."

The Democrats' votes against paying American workers are clear, Johnson explained.
🚨 Speaker Johnson displayed every bill Democrats blocked: troops' pay, federal worker salaries, SNAP benefits.

"Democrats voted NO on all of them."

Editor’s Note: The Schumer Shutdown is here. Rather than put the American people first, Chuck Schumer and the radical Democrats forced a government shutdown for healthcare for illegals. They own this.
