New York Attorney General Letitia James was indicted last week on federal fraud charges related to a home that she owns in Virginia.
Media like CNN immediately tried to spin the charges and downplay them as minor.
But they can't argue away the facts in the case.

On Monday, James made her first public appearance since the indictment at a rally for New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani. That would tell you everything you need to know about her, if you didn't already know how far left she is.
You knew it was going to be something when she raised her fist to the crowd in what looked like a black power or socialist fist as the leftist audience cheered.

Then she was off on a wild rant.

Imagine the hypocritical irony of James, who ran for her office on targeting Donald Trump, warning about "powerful voices trying to silence truth and punish dissent, and, yes, weaponize justice for political gain.”
“We are witnessing the fraying of our democracy, the erosion of our system of government. This, my friends, is a defining moment in our history. Let us stand together to protect our rights. To protect every safeguard, every institution, every immigrant. Every norm and every rule of law.
You see, I know what it feels like to be attacked for just doing your job. But I also know what it feels like to overcome adversity. And so I stand on solid rock. And I will not bow. I will not break. I will not bend. I will not capitulate. I will not give in! I will not give up!
Norms? Is she kidding? We've seen many "norms" broken in the effort to get Trump over the years. I do agree with this much: We need to end the weaponization and hold people accountable, although I suspect I would differ from James on who has been doing the weaponizing. She's not the victim here, even if she wants to do a theater kid performance for the Mamdani crowd.
Even in that statement, she throws in protecting "every immigrant." I imagine that means defending illegal aliens, but they aren't here legally, so who is breaking the norms again? Hint: It's the Republicans upholding the law here.
Bottom line for her tantrum? A grand jury indicted her, and she'll have her day in court.
