Elizabeth Warren Melts Down at RFK Jr. Over Lawsuits, Gets a Reality Check

The confirmation hearing for Robert F. Kennedy Jr. had some wild moments on Wednesday.

Sen. Ben Ray Lujan (D-NM) tried to torch him over Medicaid but Kennedy scotched that so hard and had such a reaction from the audience that Lujan asked the Chair to instruct the audience to stop laughing at him. It's hard to beat Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) flip out over baby onesies, a subject you wouldn't think would come up in a hearing for Health and Human Services Secretary. But he went there, to great mockery from the internet.

Sanders' Unhinged 'Onesies' Moment During RFK Jr. Hearing Had Kennedy, Megyn Kelly, Others Laughing

But it looked like Sen. Elizabeth Warren didn't want Bernie to win the crown for biggest implosion because she decided to throw a fit of her own.

First, she started out with a question that was so silly it had everyone laughing. She wanted to know if Kennedy would pledge not to take money from drug companies. Kennedy thought that was pretty funny, considering he's the last person who would be taking money from them. His "Who, me?" was perhaps the funniest moment of the hearing.

Kennedy said he was happy to make that commitment and he didn't think they wanted to give him any money anyway. That audience loved that. The question while funny is also ironic given the number of senators who take money from drug companies.

But after that, it got heated with Warren saying Kennedy could make money from suing the pharmaceutical companies. Kennedy said he would comply with all the ethical guidelines, but she continued to hector him.

"You're asking me not to sue pharmaceutical companies," Kennedy said.

"No, I am not!" she ranted in reply.

"Yeah, you are! That's exactly what you're doing," he responded.

Yes, you were, Senator.

Warren claimed Kennedy would have the power to undercut vaccines as HHS Secretary and he told her he supported vaccines, but he also wanted good science.

It really isn't a good look when you act like you're losing your mind. Warren was shaking during that she was so unhinged.

Then Chairman Mike Crapo finished her off, laying out that Kennedy had complied with all ethical regulations according to the Office of Government Ethics. So whatever she wanted to spin, Crapo just smacked it right down.
