Biden's Funny and Insulting Attempt to Compare Himself to George Washington

As I reported earlier, Joe Biden gave a speech near Valley Forge to attack former President Donald Trump, raise the specter of Jan. 6, and claim Trump was a threat to democracy.

Biden Delivers Angry Attack on Trump and Jan. 6 in Valley Forge Speech, but Trips Over Reality

I wrote how many of the things he was trying to impugn Trump over, the Democrats were guilty of -- such as attacking the right of people to vote by trying to remove Trump from the ballot in a variety of states. Imagine also, never before in our history has the administration gone after a political opponent as is happening now. Talk about a danger to democracy, and it's not Trump.

But there was an underlying effort beyond the remarks that he was trying to do, even from the location and the stage festooned with American flags and the location of Valley Forge. He was trying to compare himself to George Washington, to suggest that he was the one upholding the legacy and democracy.

That's parts hilariously funny and incredibly insulting to George Washington.

Biden spoke about the very cold winter that Washington had to endure.

I couldn't help but think yes, Biden had it tough as well -- he got a sunburn after a week vacationing in St. Croix.

Biden spoke about Washington rejecting being a king.

I couldn't help but think about Biden's administration trying to control speech on social media, prosecuting his political opponent, and disregarding the ruling of the Supreme Court on student debt because he doesn't like it.

Biden spoke about the willingness of Washington to give up power. Biden crowed with glee about understanding power.

I couldn't help but think about how Biden has lied about so many things and done everything he could to hold onto power, even doing something as shameless as he did during the speech -- lying about police officers dying as a result of the events of Jan. 6, and blamed Trump.

No officers were killed on that day, but Ashley Babbitt was killed by a Capitol Hill police officer. Biden didn't mention that.

Biden spoke about Washington "struggling to be born" (what the heck?). I think he means Washington knew something about the nation he struggled to help birth.

Joe Biden struggles with words and comprehension. Practically the same thing.

Washington, in legend, confessed to chopping down the cherry tree because of his commitment to honesty.

Biden talks about America proving it is still a country committed to honesty (presumably by voting for him).

Yet, he is none of those things. He constantly chops down the truth into little pieces with his epic lies. He lies on a completely different level, making up things that could never have happened. He lies about talking to dead people. He lies about the deaths of police officers. He lies about almost losing his '67 Corvette in a fire to people who just lost their homes and family members.

None of that is "decent." George Washington did everything he could to bring the nation together, while Biden has done so much to divide it and is still attacking his political opponents rather than trying to run on his own merit. So if decency is on the ballot, and it most assuredly is, we should run as far away from Joe Biden as we possibly can.

One final funny point?

Washington withstood brutal weather at Valley Forge.

Biden was supposed to give his speech on Jan. 6, not Jan. 5. He changed it because of the weather, so he wouldn't have to be there in inclement conditions.

And that says it all.
