Bill Maher Takes Apart Hamas With Some Swift, Brutal History and Humor

Bill Maher has been on fire lately, particularly when it comes to calling out the woke left on the question of the Israel-Hamas war.

Maher has lit up the kids at elite colleges for "siding with terrorists," and advised people not to go to college. He also ripped into the Ivy League presidents' stories, and the way the schools were dealing with antisemitism.

On Friday, in his "New Rules" segment, Maher took Hamas apart in under 10 minutes, taking the terror group apart itself for its actions, basically telling them they needed to grow up, as Townhall notes, and laying a little history and humor on them.

Maher's big point was that "things change." Bethlehem used to be largely Christian, but now it's largely Muslim.Crusaders aren't rushing in to free Bethlehem in the West Bank, now that Muslims are there. He walked his way through various conflicts where people were displaced or at odds over land.

He pointed out how no one truly understands this concept of being kicked off land more than the Jews -- who, he said, have been kicked out of most Arab countries that they had lived in. Yes, "TikTok," he said, referring to the social media organ that seems to be a haven for Hamas supporters.

You can't make things unhappen and a "paraglider isn't a time machine," making the great point that the Oct. 7 attack isn't going to change things or uproot Israel. Talking about "colonizers," the host pointed out how "no one was a bigger colonizer than the Muslim army," which swept out and took over much of the world. "And they didn't do it by asking," he noted.

Maher pointed out there were deals on the table to settle the conflict with Israel and share the land in 1947, 1993, 1995, 1998, 2000, and 2008. He said Yasser Arafat was offered virtually all of the West Bank, and said no. Maher then spoke to the people of Gaza, saying their leaders and the college kid "useful idiots" weren't doing them any favors--with their take on the situation, keeping alive the "river to the sea" myth.

"Where do you think Israel is going?" Maher asked, directing the question to Hamas. "Spoiler: nowhere."  It's one of the most powerful countries of the world, with nuclear weapons, and they're not leaving. So, Hamas could keep attacking but they're still not going to have the power to take out Israel.

But Israel has had to bargain with Hamas, when their position is "you all die and disappear," he said. Hamas wants all the land, they don't want to bargain. That's the problem, until they disavow that, there is no real bargain. "So you attacked, and lost. And attacked again and lost. And attacked again and lost...How's that working for you?"

Maher also said there aren't any Mexicans chanting to get back the land in the U.S. they used to have. He joked if they were going to try to move all the Jews, there was going to be some "kvetching." Are you going to move them with a fleet of trucks called "Jew-haul," he joked. He said we could move the country to Texas, put the Wailing Wall on the border, and solve two problems with one stone. But, "let's be serious," he concluded.

That was a great finish. But that's the reality here for Hamas--and these characters chanting "from the river to the sea." Israel isn't going anywhere, no matter how much they chant.
