Now that we have the transcript from the House Oversight Committee interview with Devon Archer, Hunter Biden’s business partner, we know why Rep. Dan Goldman (D-NY) raced out of the room to be the first to speak to reporters, to try to spin some of the things that Archer said that would be damaging to Joe Biden.
We’re also finding out that what Goldman said about the interview was not exactly what Archer said. What a big surprise, who would have guessed? Goldman claimed that Archer testified that they were selling the “illusion of access” to Joe Biden. So, that was what all the headlines from the liberal media blared, uncritically, just taking Goldman’s word for it, even though it contradicted all reality.

CNN then used that to completely dismiss any connection to Joe Biden, saying that Archer did not point the finger at “any sort of connection” between Joe Biden and his son’s foreign business dealings.
How CNN is covering Devon Archer's testimony: After running Dan Goldman's remarks, CNN cites a "source" who says Archer said Hunter Biden was selling the "illusion" of having access to Joe Biden.

Really a “stunning development,” CNN declared. Indeed, since it wasn’t true.
Now that we have the transcript, people are seeing that Goldman mischaracterized what was said. It was he who used the term “illusion of access” during his questioning of Devon Archer, not Archer.
Here’s what CBS’ Catherine Herridge had to say.
CBS calls out Democrat Rep. Dan Goldman's lies on the Devon Archer testimony:
"In fact, when you look at the transcript, what you see is that phrase 'illusion of access' is in Dan Goldman's question — it's actually NOT what Devon Archer testified to." pic.twitter.com/xBajOaKvnF

“In fact, when you look at the transcript, what you see is that phrase ‘illusion of access’ is in Dan Goldman’s question,” Herridge said. “It’s actually not what Devon Archer testified to.”
In other words, Goldman was trying to put words in Archer’s mouth. Archer said “yes,” but that there were “touch points and contact points that I can’t deny that happened.” “There’s a portfolio of access,” Archer said. It was also Goldman who kept inserting Beau Biden and his illness into the conversation.
Then, as we reported, Archer testified to some of that contact/access, outlining dinners, meetings, and pictures with business partners that Joe Biden was involved in. As we’ve previously reported, some even got their pictures taken with Joe Biden at the White House. That was not an “illusion of access”—that was real access that Hunter was selling, using his father to help his business dealings.
I wrote in 2021 how some got to visit with Joe Biden at the White House, and Joe even flew Hunter and one of Hunter’s business associates, Jeff Cooper on Air Force 2 to Mexico, so they could do another deal.

On top of that, Hunter made very clear in an email to one of those Mexican associates Miguel Alemán Magnani what this was all about.
‘I’ve looked at what your family has done and want to follow in that tradition and you always say you will help but I haven’t heard from you since I got you a mtg for Carlos and your Dad.
‘We have been talking about business deals and partnerships for 7 years. And I really appreciate you letting me stay at your resort villa…but I have brought every single person you have ever asked me to bring to the F’ing WHite House and the Vice President’s house and the inauguration and then you go completely silent – I don’t hear from you for months.
Not exactly illusory access there.
But it’s more than a little bit of mischaracterization there from Goldman to try to downplay and clean this mess up.
