Rep. Kat Cammack (R-FL) eviscerated the Democrats during the fight over the vote for Speaker. Cammack said the Democrats were enjoying the Republican infighting.
“Diversity of thought is a good thing,” Cammack stated. “It’s one of the things that sets us apart from our friends on the other side of the aisle. Yes, diversity of thought is a good thing.”
“But they want us divided,” she continued. “They want us to fight each other. That much has been made clear by the popcorn and blankets and alcohol that has come in over there.”
Cammack got the Democrats’ goat big time with that shot. Some wanted to have her remarks taken down, but since there isn’t a Speaker, there are no rules yet. So she didn’t violate any rules.
“If only! If Dems took a shot every time McCarthy lost a Republican, we’d all be unconscious by now🍹,” Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) tweeted. That was sort of funny.
But then she had sort of a lame attempt to come back at Cammack by going out to drink.

“The House adjourned for dinner and since Rep. Cammack already accused us of being lushes I decided to visit the local distillery [Cotton and Reed] with loved ones for dinner,” AOC said.
I’m not sure what this was supposed to prove by going to a distillery. It seemed just to prove Cammack’s point about the Democrats.
But Cammack wasn’t backing down and laid into the Democrats a little more during an interview with Fox’s Harris Faulkner. “If it wasn’t true, why did they get so offended,” Cammack teased, noting they had some receipts.

“AOC did prove my point in grabbing drinks yesterday,” Cammack said.

Faulkner said to Cammack, “You put them in their place yesterday, you had to call the place to order.”
“It must have hit a nerve,” Cammack said. “It’s no surprise here on Capitol Hill, a place where there are literally cubbies where members have tucked their alcohol aside, it’s no surprise to anyone.”
Voting continues and despite rumors, they don’t have a deal on the table yet for the Speaker.
