While the blockades that had been going on at the Ambassador Bridge in Windsor, Ontario and at the border in Coutts, Alberta have ended, the protests continue in Ottawa, despite the threat of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s invocation of the Emergencies Act, something which has never been invoked since it was passed in 1988.

Trudeau — who knelt with BLM — pitched the Freedom Convoy as the threat requiring such extreme measures, despite the group truly being peaceful. Multiple premiers and civil liberties groups denounced Trudeau’s move.

Indeed, the violent actions around the protest have involved anti-Freedom Convoy people trying to do things to the protesters. We saw someone with a radical activist background allegedly hit four protesters with his car at a Winnipeg protest. In Canberra, Australia, a woman lost her mind and drove her car up onto another protester’s car and then hit her with stolen flags.

Now there’s another crazy incident out of Ottawa involving an attack on protesters.

A man allegedly stole a flag from a 13-year-old girl who was at the protest with her father but things didn’t end up well for the flag-swiper. One man tried to get it back, but the flag-taker then pushed and attacked that man who didn’t punch him back. “Get out of my city,” the crazy man yelled, as he continued to push the other man in the face. The crazy guy got the flag away, started walking off with it, dragging it on the ground. The father followed him, then the crazy guy pushed at him and stole his gloves.

The crazy guy dropped the gloves in the wet melting snow and stomped on them into the slushy water. Then the man turned on the father and attacked him, but in the process, he fell and hurt himself. The father then went to get the police.

The police showed up and immediately figured out the situation. Nearby witnesses back up the dad’s story that the crazy man was assaulting people. It doesn’t go well for him.

The man who thought he could mess with the protesters with impunity because he didn’t like them suddenly started whining when the police told him to get up. “My ankle’s broken!” he cried. “I can’t get up.” The police sat him up anyway and arrested him. While he denied assaulting people, not seeming to get it was all on video, he did confess to taking the flag, not exactly the smartest thing in the world.

Moral of the story? No, you don’t get to attack people because you think you’re somehow more enlightened than them. Indeed, these clips showed just how unenlightened and bad his behavior was while the protesters did everything they could not to hit him back. He just got a little instant karma. He’s going to have a little time to think about this lesson in jail.
