We saw a big red flag flashing for Democrats with the election on Nov. 2, particularly with the election of Glenn Youngkin in Virginia where people rejected the radical nature of what was being taught in the schools. But across the country, there were people delivering a message that they weren’t liking what they were seeing from Joe Biden and the Democrats.

Among those people who flipped and voted for Youngkin in Virginia was Victor Jimenez. Jimenez not only was a Democrat, but he was the lead public information officer for Washington, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser’s office for community affairs. That’s a high-powered Democratic position.

But he tossed it all, voting for Glenn Youngkin and now he’s switched parties, as well.

Jimenez made a big impression after the election in Virginia when he told Telemundo that “Biden turned me into a Republican” and Biden “destroyed the economy.”

Jimenez appeared on Tucker Carlson’s show last night to explain further why he left the Democratic Party.

From Fox News:

“The reason I switched parties is because of everything that’s going on in the country right now. We see immigration through the roof right now, and that is affecting a lot of Hispanic families in my home state of Virginia,” Jimenez said. “And those are people who are already struggling with making ends meet.”

Jimenez told Carlson that the illegal immigration crisis is a top reason why he left the Democratic Party.

“If you look at the southern border, we have thousands of people who are just waiting there. And I’m not saying we have good people try to come into the country with good intentions, but we also have bad people coming into the country with bad intentions. People with illegal guns and drugs and people who are running from their law enforcement in their own country.”

Jimenez also pointed out the increased violence and increased crime. “People can feel it.” He said Democrats expect him to be a Democrat by default but he was “going against that narrative” and he felt that right now “everything is crumbling for the Democrats.” He called the Youngkin victory “the beginning of the end” for the Democratic Party and indicated “in 2022, I feel, we’re going to see more of that.”

Jimenez represents a big problem for Democrats — Democrats who see the policies that are currently being embraced by Biden and the party no longer make any sense and are in fact hurting them. Jimenez isn’t alone. It’s why Youngkin — who shouldn’t have had a chance against a machine politician like Terry McAuliffe — won. It’s why Jack Ciatterelli in New Jersey came within a whisker of winning in New Jersey. They see that in Jimenez’s words, everything is terrible under Joe Biden and they’re not buying it anymore.
