'Rules for Thee' Nabs Schumer, Hochul, Weingarten, and Other Dems in Puerto Rico

We’ve seen so many examples of Democrats blowing off COVID restrictions and mandates when it comes to their own actions, even as they are imposing them or promoting them for everyone else. We’ve even seen Joe Biden busted at a D.C. restaurant, flouting the city’s mask mandate. Of course, Biden couldn’t even adhere to the federal property mask mandate that he imposed for even a day.

Now, we bring you not just one violator but a boatload of Democrats playing the “Rules for thee but not for me” game at the Conference in Puerto Rico. The Somos Conference is a political retreat that brought together legislators and other New York officials to party down in Puerto Rico, while attending a few workshops and pretending to care about helping the island.

Now, we start off the story noting that in Puerto Rico, there’s a mask mandate for indoor businesses. The Somos Conference website also notes the mask mandate.

Despite all that, here’s Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) dancing up a storm with other NYC politicians.

Here he is with NYC Council member Carlina Rivera.

Neither he nor any of the other attendees in sight appear to be wearing masks. The NY Times reporter who identified him getting his groove on fails to note the mandate.

NY Gov. Kathy Hochul and Attorney General Letitia James were also there without masks at various points throughout the event.

Next we bring you the AFT teachers union head, the execrable Randi Weingarten, as well as the NYC Department of Education Chancellor Meisha Porter, both without masks.

When Weingarten got nailed for it on Twitter, she tried her best to spin.

So in other words, it’s cool if they take them off so people can understand what they are saying. But meanwhile, the kids who have to wear them for seven hours straight aren’t allowed to take them off to be understood, while Weingarten wants them in masks. The kids just have to suffer through them, while Randi and the DOE Chancellor can do as they like.

This isn’t the first time that Weingarten has gotten nabbed for the ‘Rules for thee’ list, as we reported in the past. She was nabbed in a similar situation of meeting indoors without a mask with other union leaders.

Do they even listen to themselves and get what nonsense they are spreading, and what hypocrites they are? Do they understand or care about the suffering they are imposing on kids?
