Joe Biden gave some brief remarks today on a variety of subjects, including Afghanistan, booster shots, and the crisis at the border.
As we previously reported, the administration has attacked the CBP over the false reports of “whipping” of Haitians story. Notice how, somehow, it’s “horrific,” in the words of White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki, yet the Biden team holds no responsibility for it? That’s a pretty neat trick.
How is it that CBP should be made to pay for imaginary whipping that never occurred, but no one should be held accountable — including Biden himself — when it comes to a drone killing a family with seven children? Or the complete mess he made of the withdrawal, with Americans dying? None of that would have occurred but for Biden’s bad decisions in regard to the withdrawal.
But that seemed to be the theme. Biden continued that theme when he spoke about Afghanistan Friday. Once again, he claimed there was no “picture book way” to end a war.
Joe Biden says he makes “no apologies” for his botched Afghanistan withdrawal.

It’s true there is no “picture book way,” but there were horrible decisions he made that were completely all on him that ended in the horrible result, that made absolutely no sense — like pulling out the military before you even got the Americans and the Afghan allies out and giving up Bagram as a secure place from which to evacuate people. The decision on Bagram also resulted in ISIS members being released including, according to one report, the man believed to be behind the suicide attack that killed 13 Americans and more than 170 Afghans.
But Biden is refusing to apologize for any of it, saying he makes “no apologies” for how he has been proceeding.
He has absolutely no shame. There are people dead because of him, and people still trapped because of him. He’s not even talking about those people, whose planes are still being held hostage in Mazar-i-Sharif by the Taliban.
He did take a few questions from obviously pre-selected reporters, once again.

Then when Biden was asked if he himself had ever gone to the border, he refused to answer that question.

If he can’t rely on his notes or a teleprompter, he can’t reply and if he does, you know that a gaffe or a bad answer is coming.
I used to think Barack Obama was bad, but Biden may indeed be the least accountable person we have ever had in the Oval Office.
