As we previously reported, Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) caused an uproar when she claimed the U.S. and Israel committed atrocities and compared them to the terrorist organizations. “We have seen unthinkable atrocities committed by the U.S., Hamas, Israel, Afghanistan, and the Taliban,” she declared.
We must have the same level of accountability and justice for all victims of crimes against humanity.

After that, she was called out by a group of Jewish, congressional Democrats: 12 of the 25 members.

Equating the United States and Israel to Hamas and the Taliban is as offensive as it is misguided. Ignoring the differences between democracies governed by the rule of law and contemptible organizations that engage in terrorism at best discredits one’s intended argument and at worst reflects deep-seated prejudice.
The United States and Israel are imperfect and, like all democracies, at times deserving of critique, but false equivalencies give cover to terrorist groups. We urge Congresswoman Omar to clarify her words placing the US and Israel in the same category as Hamas and the Taliban.
In response, she accused them of Islamophobia as her defense. Talk about gall.
It’s shameful for colleagues who call me when they need my support to now put out a statement asking for “clarification” and not just call.
The islamophobic tropes in this statement are offensive. The constant harassment & silencing from the signers of this letter is unbearable. https://t.co/37dy2UduW0

So, the person who has a problem with anti-Semitic and anti-America remarks is accusing people of being “Islamophobes” simply for busting her comments.
Omar then ‘clarified’ her remarks and claimed that she wasn’t making a comparison.
“To be clear: the conversation was about accountability for specific incidents regarding those ICC cases, not a moral comparison between Hamas and the Taliban and the US and Israel. I was in no way equating terrorist organizations with democratic countries with well-established judicial systems.”
Of course she was, so this ‘clarification’ is just nonsense.
But apparently, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) thought it was enough of a cover to hang her hat on. Once again, she refused to call out Omar, saying the ‘clarification’ was enough. She didn’t condemn Omar’s false accusations against her Jewish colleagues.
Speaker Pelosi is asked if any further action will be taken against Rep. Ilhan Omar after her comments equating the U.S. and Israel to the Taliban and Hamas:
"No… I think that she clarified her remarks." pic.twitter.com/VL8X5HTVgM

Asked if she thought more needed to be done, Pelosi said, “No, I don’t. I think that she clarified her remarks…we accepted that…she has a point that she wanted to make and she has a right to make that point.”
Her Squad members, of course, had rushed to her defense.
But, guess who is actually criticizing her, at least in part?
According to a statement on their website (yes, Hamas has an official website), while they thank Omar for her defense, they’re disturbed that she compared them to the U.S. and Israel. No joke.
Hamas issued press release denouncing US Rep. Illhan Omar (@Ilhan) for equating the 'Palestinian resistance' to the 'crimes' of Israel & US invasion in Afghanistan. They appreciate her stance on justice, especially for Palestinians. But asks her to describe events 'accurately.' pic.twitter.com/gWO34xGQqx

You can read the whole statement on the site, which is a festival of propaganda, but here’s the pertinent part.
The remarks made by US congresswoman Ilhan Omar are very peculiar; she equated between the victim and the executioner when she treated the resistance of the Palestinian people, the Israeli crimes in Palestine, and the US aggression in Afghanistan as an equal footing.
Hamas highly appreciates Omar’s stances in support of justice and the rights of the oppressed around the world, foremost among them is the just rights of the Palestinian people. However, it is unacceptable to make such an unfair comparison, which contradicts with basic norms of justice and international law. [….]Thus, we hope that US Rep. Ilhan Omar and all defenders of Palestinian rights make effort to provide a proper and accurate description of the situation, as this is the starting point to lay the foundations for a fair solution for this prolonged state of injustice and denial of the Palestinian people’s rights.
Now, that’s pretty hilarious, when even Hamas is busting what she has to say. When she tried to skewer Israel and the U.S., she unintentionally antagonized them. Basically they’re telling her, “Get your propaganda straight if you want to defend us, lady.”
