In the wake of the death of George Floyd, followed by the protests and the riots, one of the worst things that has been pushed is a complete demonization of the police.

As with any job, there are good police and there are bad police. But Black Lives Matter and radical leftists paint all police as bad, indeed that’s the meaning of the acronym “ACAB” that you often see spray painted, as in “all cops are bastards.” They believe the very nature of police is an effort to oppress people and specifically black people.

This demonization has resulted in all manner of attacks on the police by protesters/rioters/Antifa including firebombings and outright assassinations. On top of that, media largely has failed to highlight the horrible attacks and murders of police like the assassination of David Patrick Underwood and the firebombing attacks on the NYPD.

Democrats instead of discouraging this are encouraging this demonization.

Here’s Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), dispensing with the “soft pedaling” cover of trying to claim that “defund” doesn’t mean defund. She makes it clear they mean entirely dismantling the Minneapolis Police Department which she calls a “cancer.”

“The Minneapolis Police Department is rotten to the root and so when we dismantle it, we get rid of that cancer and we allow for something beautiful to rise,” Omar said.

While media has failed to push back on this craziness, White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany did.

McEnany said the president has spoken out against injustice, such as in the death of George Floyd. But he’s also concerned about this demonization of the police, she indicated. She then called out Ilhan Omar for calling cops “cancer.”

“What do you think that leads to? ” McEnany said. “The AP reported on a shooting in front of a police department today in California.”

In that incident, the shooter who was a man in his 20s or 30s, fired at the Paso Robles Police Department early this morning while officers were inside. Then two sheriff’s deputies were fired upon when they arrived on the scene, wounding one, who is now in serious condition.

“Let’s stop vilifying our officers. Let’s recognize injustice where we see it,” McEnany said.
But recognize, that all of in here, are safe because of our police officers doing their job, each and every day.”

Exactly. Doesn’t Ilhan Omar have a protective detail? So if she wants police dismantled, is she going to give up her police detail? Or is that okay because they protect her?

This demonization of the police is wrong and it’s evil, it’s encouraging attacks on police. But not only have Democrats not called for people to stop it, too many like Omar are encouraging it.
