The presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden was back in the basement again, after venturing out over the Memorial Day weekend to lay a wreath and do an in-person softball interview with CNN’s Dana Bash.
Even some on the left were making fun of some of the questions Bash asked. She didn’t ask him about Tara Reade, for example, but did ask if wearing the mask projected weakness or strength. Bash also asked whether he should consider not “apologizing” for things when President Donald Trump doesn’t apologize. This was in response to a discussion where Biden made a racist comment that “You ain’t black” if you don’t vote for me. He later apologized for the comment. But during this interview, he then blamed the interviewer, Charlamagne tha God for being a “wise guy,” saying he responded to him, a ridiculous response.
Biden also admitted to the accusation that he was in hiding, “It’s working pretty well.”
So, on Wednesday, he was back in his basement. But he didn’t have the mask on to muzzle the gaffes and he was at it again during an online campaign town hall with Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf.
He was talking about how his state of Delaware separated from Pennsylvania, Wolf’s state, “We declared our independence on December the 7th, it’s not just D-Day.”
Of course, December 7 isn’t D-Day, it’s the day the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor in 1941. D-Day was June 6, 1944.
But he was also wrong about the day that Delaware celebrates their independence from Pennsylvania, the anniversary of which is June 15, 1776. December 7, 1787, was the day the state ratified the U.S. Constitution.

Biden’s memory has failed him at other times in the 2020 campaign. Last week, as President Trump drew criticism for firing the State Department’s inspector general, Biden forgot that his former administration fired an inspector general. At a December campaign event, he could not remember what century he served as vice president.
