President Donald Trump gave an address on the Wuhan coronavirus on Wednesday and Joe Biden tried to do the same on Thursday, in an effort to appear presidential, even down to flags in the background.

As we reported yesterday, Biden not only has a history of incorrect statements and/or lies about the Trump administration’s response to the Wuhan virus, but he also almost created a panic during the swine flu epidemic and the Obama administration had to apologize for his remarks.

Biden’s “plan” to approach the virus was basically a rehash of things, plagiarized from what Trump is already doing, as my colleague Streiff observed.

But Biden also made some comments during his speech and later on Twitter that were just out-and-out wrong and contradict medical experts on the matter, as Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX) pointed out.

A wall will not stop the coronavirus.

Banning all travel from Europe — or any other part of the world — will not stop it.

This disease could impact every nation and any person on the planet — and we need a plan to combat it.

“A wall will not stop the coronavirus,” Biden wrote on Twitter on Thursday night, attempting to link the outbreak to Trump’s signature immigration goal of a strong barrier along the U.S.-Mexico border.

“Banning all travel from Europe – or any other part of the world – will not stop it,” Biden continued, taking aim at the temporary travel policy Trump announced this week. “This disease could impact every nation and any person on the planet – and we need a plan to combat it.”

He also suggested in his speech that restricting travel from China, as Trump did in January to help stop the spread, was “xenophobic.”

But Crenshaw observed how nonsensical this was.

First, walls quite literally stop a virus. It’s kind of the whole point of a quarantine, for instance.

“First, walls quite literally stop a virus,” Crenshaw tweeted. “It’s kind of the whole point of a quarantine, for instance. Second, assuming you meant this metaphorically, health experts like Dr. Fauci and everyone else agree travel restrictions have vastly slowed the spread of the virus in the US.”

Dr. Anthony Fauci is the head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases at the National Institutes of Health and a top expert on immunology who has been a scientific adviser to multiple presidents.

Fauci has made it clear that Trump’s decision to restrict travel early saved lives and he repeated that in an appearance on “Hannity.”

“Yes, there’s no question that if we had not done that in a timely way, there would have been many more travel-related cases from China,” Fauci said during an appearance on “Hannity.” “And as you know, the outbreak that we’re having here in the country, these cases originated from travel-related cases that came from China — and then we had the issue in Washington state and what we’re seeing now in other states.

“So, coming from outside within was the thing that started it. So, I think [Trump’s travel restriction against flights from China] saved us a lot of — a lot of concern and a lot of suffering, I think.”

Fauci also confirmed to a Politico reporter that Trump banning travel from Europe would be helpful as you wouldn’t be importing new cases, that a lot of the new cases are connected to Europe.

Add to that, social distancing and self-quarantining as he and other medical experts have suggested (in other words, walls) between yourself and others is a beneficial method to stop the spread.

Biden’s seeming failure to understand these basic facts shows once again how he is not fit for office and how he likely would have made the situation far worse if he had been reluctant to take the steps Trump did.
