FILE – In this Feb. 16, 2016 file photo Deputy National Security Adviser For Strategic Communications Ben Rhodes speaks in the Brady Press Briefing Room of the White House in Washington. An advocacy group recently identified by the White House as part of its echo chamber gave National Public Radio $100,000 to help it report on the Iran nuclear program and related issues. It also funded reporters at The Nation and fellow liberal media outlet Mother Jones, and partnered with the Center for Public Integrity. The groups quiet, behind-the-scenes effort to help the Obama administration sell the Iran nuclear deal received attention this month after a candid profile of Ben Rhodes, one of the presidents closest aides. As Iran-backed militia were in process of attacking the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad on Tuesday, former Obama adviser Ben Rhodes had the temerity to attack the Trump policy on Iran, reminding us of just how disgusting the Obama administration was and how lucky we are they are no longer in power.
Trump sanctions on Iran have done nothing to change Iranian behavior except make it worse. This is what happens when your foreign policy is based on Obama envy, domestic politics, Saudi interests, and magical right wing thinking. https://t.co/HDn0ywZnHu

Rhodes was one of the chief architects in pitching the Iran Deal to the media and the public. He admitted how he manipulated the media to spin the deal.
From The Hill:
As Rhodes himself told the New York Times magazine, “They were saying things that validated what we had given them to say.”
He called them, “the echo chamber,” and scarcely disguised his contempt for the media and their think tank cronies in his revealing May 2016 interview.
“The average reporter we talk to is 27 years old, and their only reporting experience consists of being around political campaigns. That’s a sea change. They literally know nothing,” he said.
As Politico reported, the Obama administration was so intent on getting the Iran Deal, that they allegedly even tried to quash a Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) investigation into Hezbollah cocaine smuggling into the United States known as Project Cassandra.
And Rhodes dares talk about sanctions for trying to hold the rogue regime to account? He’s spinning in favor of Iran and against sanctions on them today when we are under attack? And should we even mention how he was the “talking points” guy, helping to spin the Benghazi story?
Needless to say, people were having none of it.
Iran was very happy with your deal
They got to keep all their nuke infrastructure, finance terror—and you sent cash.— mallen (@mallen2010) December 31, 2019
And Kerry said they knew it would fund terrorism !

It’s just Obama’s quid pro quo with the Iranian hardline Mullahs.

Iran backed terrorist groups are using the money you sent them to attack American troops. GTFOH
— Jay K (@JayKlos) December 31, 2019
Back to creative writing I see. Yes, flying pallets full of cash to the starving Mullahs which now helps to finance assaults on their own citizns and funds proxy efforts abroad was a pure stroke of genius on your part.

Congratulations! The 1.6 billion in cash you sent Iran is finally showing results!

As you attack Trump’s foreign policy, Iranian militia members are — at this very moment — attacking American soldiers using the $1.7B cash you and Team Obama sent to Tehran.
What a time to be self righteous. https://t.co/FUtg02WTwZ
