In this episode of "Why DEI Was Always Destined for the Trash Heap of History"...
As DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion) continues to die a slow and painful death, it's easy — in fact, it's always been easy — to understand why it has so miserably failed.
First and foremost, the left's definition of each of the three terms is not the accepted definition as understood by most rational people.
For example, "inclusion," in the twisted minds of the left, means we must not only accept but also embrace alternative lifestyles and such, including males pretending to be females beating the tar out of actual females in women's and girls' sporting events, using women's restrooms, and even putting tampons in boys' restrooms.
Meanwhile, the left believes that "equity" trumps (no pun intended) merit — everywhere from admission to universities, acquiring jobs, and receiving promotions. Yes, this is another one of those times to ask how that all worked out with the selection of Kamala Harris as Joe Biden's running mate in 2020.
This leaves us with "diversity" — Democrat style.
Much like their spin on “inclusion,” the left’s twisted take on “diversity” really means fixating on minorities— and others the Democrats love to label as “marginalized groups.”
Yet, when it comes to intellectual diversity (diversity of viewpoints), the left abhors it.
The left loves to preach the gospel of “diversity”— but only the kind that plays well in the left-wing media. Race, gender, sexuality, and every imaginable identity box are regularly trumpeted by left-wing media lapdogs, and within the no-longer-hallowed halls of academia, yet when it comes to diversity of thought, yeah, no.
Simply and plain for all to see, intellectual diversity threatens the narratives and ideological monopoly on which so-called "progressivism" so desperately depends.
Today's Democrats believe their various viewpoints are unequivocal.
To question narratives of the left — covering everything from anthropomorphic (human-caused) climate change to gender ideology to affirmative action, and so on, intellectual diversity is not to be tolerated by the left. When challenged, they summarily accuse their opponents of “denying science,” “erasing lives,” or “upholding systemic oppression.” By moralizing disagreement, the left attempts to shield itself from scrutiny.
Nonsense; let's blister the left's abject rejection (and fear) of intellectual diversity — beginning in higher education (emphasize, mine).
As pointed out by political commentator and author Jonathan Turley in a Monday article about the current levels of intolerance and orthodoxy in higher education:
Our students are being educated by faculty taken from the same liberal elite of just 26 percent of our nation. I have never argued for the hiring of Republicans or the imposition of a partisan quota. Rather, the surveys and self-identification of faculty are one of the few objective means to show how lopsided the ideological balance has become in our schools.
Some sites like Above the Law have supported the exclusion of conservative faculty. Senior Editor Joe Patrice defended “predominantly liberal faculties” by arguing that hiring a conservative law professor is akin to allowing a believer in geocentrism to teach at a university.
While I loathe the social media keyboard jockey "Let that sink in" admonition, it's somewhat applicable to the bolded line above. In the minds of leftist elites, their very thoughts, words, and beliefs are absolute; to question them is tantamount to political or philosophical sin in their indoctrinated minds.

The Death of DEI Continues: Princeton Reinstates Standardized Testing Requirements — Sort Of
If opposition to intellectual diversity were only a reality in higher [ahem] education, it would be somewhat tolerable, I suppose, but the Democrat Party is the political poster child of rejection of intellectual diversity in real, everyday life — and the party couldn't be more hypocritical because of it.
From all things Trump to on-demand abortion to transgenderism to antisemitism in favor of Palestinian rights to gleeful acceptance — during the Biden administration — of millions of illegal aliens streaming across the Southern Border, Democrat political figures recoil over the audacity of anyone of consequence who dares to challenge their absolutism.
So where do we go from here?
Forward, of course, meaning away from the cancer of DEI, left-wing absolutism, and radical leftist philosophies and policies.
Thankfully, due to the leadership of (or fear of ) President Donald Trump, the light at the end of the tunnel continues to glow brighter and brighter — and the left couldn't hate it more.
