A 'Savior' Is Born! 'The View' Delusionally Elevates Liz Cheney to Messianic Status

'Tis the season to be jolly — except for the ladies of "The View," in which case 'tis the season to be delusional (even more than usual).

Before we get to the latest idiotic episode of "The View," Republican Party outcast Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) is in the news again.

The former congresswoman, a fierce critic of former President Donald Trump who co-chaired the congressional investigation of the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol, is telling the media she's considering running for president in 2024 if Trump wins the Republican nomination — either as a third-party conservative candidate or on a bipartisan ticket that would include both a Republican and a Democrat. (We'll get to that in a bit.)

This brings us back to yesterday's more delusional than usual episode of "The View."

Mensa member [ahem] Whoopi Goldberg kicked off the festivities:

So, here's what's going on. Former Republican Congresswoman Liz Cheney continues to ring alarm bells about keeping you-know-who from ever getting back in the White House. She's holding members of her party accountable and claims she's even willing to split a third-party ticket.

I'm unaware of the "alarm bells" to which Whip It Up Whoopi speaks, but let's continue. Pretend Republican Alyssa Farah Griffin responded with this incisive nonsense:

If you thought the first term of Trump was bad, buckle up. Liz Cheney said we're sleepwalking into dictatorship. I’d say we're careening into it. Donald Trump is telling us what he’s going to do in a second term and we need to listen to it.

He says that in the first term a lot of the worst instincts were stifled by two things: Him [sic] not knowing how the Hell the federal government works and people saying, “Yo, you got to run for reelection.” Those things are not the case in a second election.

He knows how to weaponize the federal government. He’s planning to fire civil servants with expertise and non-partisan people, [and] staff the government with loyalists. He has an enemies list, which by the way, that [sic] includes the media. He came after MSNBC, he will truly go after the media in a second term.

"That's us," the ever-hateful Joy Behar spewed. Griffin continued to spew:

And we can't take him lightly. Before I can tell you, right before I resigned I was in an Oval Office meeting with a dozen other staffers, and somebody had — he thinks — leaked a story about him going to the bunker during the George Floyd protest. And he said, “Whoever did that should be executed.” He’s used that terminology – He’s used it talking about chairman Miley.

I cannot raise enough alarm bells about how dangerous he is and how he needs to be stopped at all costs.

Incidentally, do you ever wonder if these loons realize how entertaining they are to rational people — from a total lack of self-awareness perspective? Me, neither. On the contrary, you know they believe their silly bilge is cutting-edge political analysis.

Next up, clueless pot-stirrer Sunny Hostin weighed in with one of the most Sunny Hostin takes I've heard in a while. (emphasis, mine)

But I do wonder, are people listening? Are people hearing these alarms? Because you're not the only one that’s raising these alarms. I mean, we're seeing people with great credibility raising these alarms, and the polls – I know Whoopi hates the polls – but it just seems like the very feeling in the country is, he's going to be the nominee no matter what. And I will say this, I never thought I would say that Liz Cheney is probably our savior here, because she voted 93 percent of the time with Trump.

Stop the tape.

Savior? How so? Cheney became a pariah in the Republican Party because she was and remains riddled with stage 4 TDS. Moreover, to House Democrats, she was simply a useful idiot — nothing more. This raises two questions:

First, how can Cheney possibly believe she'd have a chance in hell of taking away a sufficient number of votes from Trump to deny him an election win? Second, does she think she could win?  If so, she's even more delusional than we already know she is.

Griffin finished with this:

Over the weekend, Liz Cheney said a second Trump presidency means the U.S. would be sleepwalking into a dictatorship; Alyssa mentioned she thought we were – we would be careening into a dictatorship. How serious in the administration's view does the former President present?

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was on hand to answer the question. If you want to know what she said, you'll have to watch the video — I chose not to bother myself with transcribing her nonsense.

The Bottom Line

The more it looks like Donald Trump is a lock to win the Republican nomination, and the more it looks like embattled Joe Biden doesn't have a chance in hell of beating him, the more the TDS-riddled among lose their crap.

From GOP outcasts like Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger to terrified Democrat lawmakers to the clown car known as "The View," the handwringing histrionics are a beautiful thing to see. Let's hope it continues.
