Remember when I wrote about folks on the left pretending that former President Donald Trump is Hitler reincarnated because he compared fascists, Marxists, and other radicals to “vermin?”
Well, it appears everyone’s favorite washed-up Republican politician Liz Cheney decided to join in on the “Everyone I Don’t Like Is Hitler” chorus on Monday while responding to a video clip of Republican National Committee (RNC) Chair Ronna McDaniel chiming in on the matter.
During an interview with NBC News’ Kristen Welker, McDaniel was asked her opinion about Trump’s comments. McDaniel responded, saying she is “not going to comment on candidates and their campaign messaging” and affirmed that Trump “loves the veterans.”
Welker: Are you comfortable with this language coming from the GOP frontrunner?

Apparently, McDaniel’s failure to melt down into an anti-Trump puddle of faux hysteria did not sit well with Cheney, who has based her entire political platform on the Orange Man What Is Bad™. In a post on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, Cheney lashed out at the RNC Chair, accusing her of “collaborating” with Trump’s use of “Nazi propaganda.”
When @GOPChairwoman refuses to condemn the GOP’s leading candidate for using the same Nazi propaganda that mobilized 1930s-40s Germany to evil, it’s fair to assume she’s collaborating. History will judge Ronna McDaniel and every Republican who is appeasing this dangerous man. https://t.co/f4MMPoreFc

For those who missed the story, folks on the left participated in a massive handwringing campaign after Trump’s Veterans Day speech. Near the end, he said:
“We pledge to you that we will root out the communists, Marxists, fascists, and the radical left thugs that live like vermin within the confines of our country that lie and steal and cheat on elections. They’ll do anything, whether legally or illegally, to destroy America and to destroy the American Dream.”
Of course, Cheney likely doesn’t mean a single word of the bile she posted on X – just like the rest of the folks on the left who have no problem downplaying Hitler’s atrocities just to attack Trump. Let’s not forget, she has had a personal vendetta against the former president for years. In fact, it was her obsession with Trump that led to Wyoming voters giving her the boot from Congress during the 2022 midterm elections.
Now, Cheney is just another neocon who nobody (except the left) takes seriously. Yet, she continues to demonstrate a remarkable lack of self-awareness and an ability to read the room. Last month, she had the unmitigated gall to suggest that she might run for president, even though most conservative voters would rather bathe in battery acid than vote for her.

Lack of self-awareness aside, Cheney’s downfall isn’t all doom and gloom. In these troubled times, we still need people on the national stage who can give us a laugh every now and then. Cheney has shown time and time again that she is up to the task.
