Virginia School Board Ignores 84 Percent of Parents Opposed to Teaching 'Gender Identity' in Sex-Ed Classes

In this episode of Meanwhile, Let’s Check in With the Fairfax County Virginia School Board…

If “Fairfax County School Board” doesn’t ring a bell, perhaps some of the radical school board’s previous “episodes” will:

Yep, that Fairfax County School Board. Not to be confused with the equally radical Loudoun County School Board, the other pea in Virginia’s woke school board pod, but an ideological twin nonetheless.

Anyway, in today’s episode, the Fairfax County School Board is ignoring a majority of parents — to the tune of 84 percent — who are opposed to allowing boys and girls to take sex education together— and a whole lot more. No matter. Fairfax County School Superintendent, Michelle Reid, responded to the data by saying: “Honestly, the majority doesn’t always dictate, right?”

Um. So here’s the deal: The radical left tries its damnedest to shove everything down our throats from the irreversible mutilation of children’s bodies — “gender identity affirmation” — to redundantly-labeled “biological males” beating the hell out of girls and young women in women’s sports, all in the name of “diversity, equity, and inclusion” (DEI), when in reality, the hypocrites are really all about the exclusion of those who disagree with their radicalism, and some would say immorality.

Tony Sabio, who’s running for a seat on the Fairfax County Public School Board this year, told the Washington Examiner, in effect, that the school board doesn’t give a damn about parents or their views.

This shows the school board does not care about the parents. They feel a disservice, they don’t feel their voices are heard. You can’t discount 84 percent.

For the school board, and also the superintendent, to say the majority does not dictate. It’s not the country we want to live in. It’s not the country Fairfax County residents want to live in.

Think about it: Despite the staunch opposition of more than eight out of 10 parents, children who’ve previously been separated by gender in sex-ed classes will be combined beginning in the next school year — with “instruction” beginning in fourth grade. Listen, if I lived in Fairfax County and had a fourth-grader, I’d get a second or third job if necessary and jerk my kid out of that cesspool school system in a nanosecond.

School board member Karl Frisch, who is openly gay, also dismissed the overwhelming data.

So if I’m a Reddit lawyer in Wyoming, and I have two cell phones, a laptop and iPad, and maybe web access over my television, I could submit answers to this survey. As many times as I have access to a device, we have no guarantee that the people reside in Fairfax County.

Nonsensical straw-dog argument. People can “What if?” things until the proverbial cows come home. Dude, if you’re going to present an argument, how ’bout making it a cogent one? Just a thought.

Finally, board member Melanie Meren offered this gem as an argument for ignoring the opinions of 84 percent of affected Fairfax County parents:

You know, what if students learned more than my generation did about other genders? I think this is a step towards further accepting everyone and understanding people’s biology. I mean, it’s just straight-up biology.

Memo to Ms. Meren: You know, what if students’ parents made that decision vs. leftists with a radical agenda? I think this is a step towards accepting everyone — including parents who disagree with your radicalism. I mean, it’s just straight-up their opinions vs. yours, and it’s their kids who you’re indoctrinating, not yours.

The Bottom Line

Russian revolutionary Vladimir Lenin infamously said: “Give me a child for the first five years of his life and he will be mine forever.”

While America’s public education system doesn’t get America’s kids in its left-wing clutches until after age five, they waste little time doing their damnedest to, as Ms. Meren laughably said, accept everyone. Please.
