Climate Hysteria Takes Over as Dutch City Becomes World's First to Ban Meat Ads

California Democrat Gov. Gavin Newsom’s ban on gas-powered passenger vehicles in the name of saving the planet ain’t got nothin’ on the Dutch city of Haarlem, which is just west of Amsterdam. The city will become the first in the world to ban meat advertisements when the policy goes into effect in 2024.

Joe Biden, John Kerry, and Leonardo DiCaprio were reportedly seen furiously nodding in approval.

As reported by… wait for it… vegan news site Plant Based News, the ban is being instituted to reduce the consumption of meat to lower greenhouse gas emissions by livestockcow farts, as it were — according to multiple reports. Ads will be banned on “city buses, shelters, and screens in public,” joining the list of already banned ads on gas-powered cars, flying, and the evil fossil fuel industry, of course.

Can’t make it up. Thanks to the Planet Looney Tunes Left, we don’t have to. Here’s Holland’s GroenLinks Party councilor Ziggy Klazes explaining the insane ban, as transcribed by Plant Based News:

Meat is just as harmful to the environment. We can’t tell people there’s a climate crisis and encourage them to buy products that are part of the cause.

Incorrect, Ziggy. You can’t tell people it’s your opinion that a “climate crisis” — AKA: “The existential threat to mankind” — exists. Moreover, untold numbers of scientists beg to differ.

The news has been correctly met with a backlash from the Dutch meat industry, with an industry spokesman saying government authorities are going “too far in telling people what’s best for them.” No kidding? (See: America’s Democrat Party.)

As we reported in July, Dutch farmers protested in reaction to the government shutting down farms to “save the planet.” The government’s plan would slash nitrogen oxide and ammonia emissions by up to 70 percent. (No word on whether Al “Polar Ice Caps” Gore gleefully wet his pants on hearing the news.)

According to the “always-trustworthy” U.N., 14 percent of greenhouse gases are produced by livestock.

Meanwhile, as we reported in July, a growing number of Americans are pulling the plug on the Democrats’ “climate change” hysteria. A New York Times/Siena College poll found that just one percent of registered voters view climate change as a “top priority” — far from the “existential threat” hysteria of the left.

Oops — I almost forgot. Gavin Newsom’s ban on the sale of gas-powered cars by 2030? Just days after the ban was announced, this happened:

California recently ruled to ban gas-powered cars by 2035 but just put out a warning to “avoid charging electric vehicles” due to power grid issues and blackouts.

Somewhere in Austin, Texas Gov Greg Abbott is smiling.

Meanwhile, Cow Lives Matter. So does meat.
