Some Californians are so outraged with the results, they’ve decided to leave the Union. No Seriously. They have a petition and everything.
California is a nation, not a state. This is the campaign to secede and make California an independent country. https://t.co/qRVfC2TG21 pic.twitter.com/eeTUtsThpX

I had heard rumblings all day of a “Calexit” I assumed it was a joke. It is very real according to the website, YesCalifornia.org Here’s their plan….
The 2019 #Calexit Independence Referendum
In the Spring of 2019, Californians will go to the polls in a historic vote to decide by referendum if California should exit the Union, a #Calexit vote.
You will have this historic opportunity because the Yes California Independence Campaign will qualify a citizen’s initiative for the 2018 ballot that if passed would call for a special election for Californians to vote for or against the independence of California from the United States
They’ve even got themselves a nifty hashtag, #Calexit. I’d mock them for their lack of creativity in the selection of their name, but clearly they’ve got much larger issues than that.
What I don’t understand is who they think is going to try and stop them? As fantastical of the idea of a #Calexit sounds, right now a good portion of the country would be willing to let them go without much of a fight. In fact some have been suggesting we give them back to Mexico for years. Maybe we can work out a trade deal?
Trust me, no one is trying to stop you. https://t.co/Us6DJmOCQz
