Rep. Peter King, Supporter of Terrorists, Tells Ted Cruz to "Go Back Under a Rock."

Ted Cruz recently took what I thought was a pretty harmless swipe at Donald Trump, saying (in Iowa) that Trump has “New York Values.” Ted Cruz is by far not the first person to run against the east coast (or New York or DC in particular) on the campaign trail, and I thought his swipe was pretty mild. Since this remark, I’ve gotten a ton of angry emails suggesting that Cruz was somehow Jew-baiting with this remark.

However, longtime supporter of actual terrorists Rep. Peter King (R-NY) took special exception.

Trump “may shift in his new rallies to playing ‘New York New York,’ because you know Donald comes from New York and he embodies New York values,” Cruz said Tuesday on “The Howie Carr Show” on Boston-based WRKO.

King, a Republican, had a pointed response for Cruz.

“Memo to Ted Cruz: New York Values are the heroes of 9/11; the cops who fight terror; and the people you ask for campaign donations. Go back under a rock,” King said in a statement to CNN Thursday.

Creative rejoinder, and substantive to boot!

While I’m dismayed at the possibility that the party may have shifted to the land of Trump, which is not a land I am comfortable living in, I’m glad it has passed dinosaurs like the terrorist supporting blowhard Peter King by. Ted Cruz has already garnered more support and raised more money for the GOP than Peter King ever could raise – either for the GOP or the IRA.
