Erika Kirk broke down talking about the "little things" that hit her hardest about the loss of her husband, Turning Point USA co-founder Charlie Kirk, as she sent a wise message to married couples about not sweating the small stuff.
During her appearance on Tuesday on Fox and Friends, the host asked Kirk how she and their family were doing. Erika opened up about some of the things she misses the most about her late husband, sharing intimate details of how their family dynamics worked.

Erika explained that their family was "hanging in there."
"We're doing the best as can be expected," Kirk explained, pointing out how every Friday night it was a family tradition for her, Charlie, and the kids to have dinner at her mom's house.
Erika said her mom, who she said is battling a very rare illness, and Charlie were best friends, as she explained it was something everyone looked forward to as they sat around the table checking in with each other on how their week went.
"But what I miss most. What really just hits me hard is when I'm in the grocery store, and I see his hot sauce, I want to buy it, or it's the little things," Kirk said as she started to break down. "His clothes everywhere… It's the little things."
"And I know that people who have experienced loss totally understand what I'm saying. It's the small things that just get you," she added, wiping tears from her eyes. "It's the visual of daddy coming home and, to the world, he was Charlie Kirk, but to us, he was the love of my life. My children's dad."
She then kept wiping tears from her eyes and apologized for getting emotional. The host comforted her and told her it was understandable.
"It's the little things where again he would walk through the door and drop his bags, 'daddy's home.' Take his phone, Friday night, Shabbat Shallom, throw it in the junk drawer, and it was just all us."

Erika then sent a message to couples who are married.
"And I just want to encourage spouses, don't get mad," Kirk said. "It's so easy. Don't do it."
As RedState has reported, following Kirk's assassination in September on the campus of Utah Valley University, Utah, Erika has picked up the mantle and become the voice and face of Kirk's organization TPUSA, carrying on her late husband's incredible mission to spread conservative values to the next generation.
