Republican Florida Governor Ron DeSantis responds to the latest first-world problems complaint about the food detainees at Alligator Alcatraz are being fed, and it's laughable, to say the least.
During a news conference on Tuesday in Gainesville, Florida, DeSantis called out legislators who have tried to criticize the conditions at the new illegal immigration detention facility in the Florida Everglades.

"So, they're making these claims and they're saying oh they [illegals] are not fed well," DeSantis explained. "Well, first of all, they're fed the same that the staff is fed. You know you go to, it's not a prison, it's a deportation processing center. So, it is different."
"But like in Florida prisons, do you think the prisoners get the same meals as the guards?" he added. "No, of course not. It's different. This is -- everyone's the same there, and they were mad that the ham sandwiches weren't toasted. Excuse me?" the Governor continued. "I mean, give me a break."

As my RedState colleague Sister Toldjah has reported, liberals and the usual Democrat suspects have slammed the "inhumane" temporary center, only to be hit with reality from those on the ground.
Already, we're reading about unconfirmed reports of, among other things, mosquitoes "the size of elephants" and food that allegedly contains maggots.
Not surprisingly, the left-wing media apparatus in Florida is on the case, frantically searching for detainee "victims" whom they think they can use to drum up opposition to the facility and sympathy for the illegal immigrants.

One of the best might have been from Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL), who boldly declared that these detainees were having to brush their teeth where they poop, which many on social media pointed out is the place we all do that, it's called the bathroom, my RedState colleague Nick Arama reported.
First, Schultz said that they were living in cages:
"Let's be clear, throughout this entire tour, it was repeated over and over that the state is working hand in glove with ICE. This facility was inspected by ICE, they review their detention standards, they are using cages," Wasserman-Schultz said. "These detainees are living in cages. The pictures that you've seen don't do it justice."

But the best part was the following:
"They get their drinking water, and they brush their teeth where they poop!" the Democrat declared.
EDITOR'S NOTE: Thanks to President Trump, illegal immigration into our great country has virtually stopped. Despite the radical left's lies, new legislation wasn't needed to secure our border, just a new president.
