Country legend Alan Jackson shocked fans on the last night of his current tour when he announced he was leaving the road for good and would be only playing one final show.

During his concert on Friday in Milwaukee, WI, the 66-year-old country music singer sat on stage and spoke to the sold-out crowd. He said there will be one final party, and it will happen next summer in Nashville. He confirmed it would be his last show on the road, following an announcement in 2024 that he would retire at the end of his "Last Call: One More for the Road" tour.

"Y'all may have heard that I'm kinda winding down. In fact, this is my last roadshow of my career," Jackson said in the clip posted online. "Y'all gonna make me tear up out here."

"I will say that this is my last road show out here, but we're planning on doing a big finale show in Nashville next summer sometime," he added. "I just felt like I had to end it all where it all started, and that's in Nashville, Tennessee. But this is the last one out on the road for me."

"It's been a long, sweet ride. It started 40 years ago this September," Jackson continued. "My wife and I drove to Nashville with an old U-Haul trailer and chased this dream. It's been a crazy ride. I lived the American dream for sure. So blessed. Thank you all for your support."

One year ago, the Country Music Hall of Famer announced he was heading back out on tour to play his biggest hits for fans across the country with the extension of his "Last Call" tour.

In the announcement, the country singer said he would perform in 10 arenas from 2024 to 2025.

"Fans know when they come to my shows, they're going to hear the songs that made me who I am – the ones they love," Jackson said in the statement. "The Last Call: One More for the Road Tour – presented by Silverbelly Whiskey and promoted by Peachtree Entertainment and Doussan Music Group – will find the three-time CMA Entertainer of the Year thrilling audiences as fans relive hits like "Chattahoochee" and "It's Five O'Clock Somewhere" night-after-night."

"I've been touring for over 30 years – my daughters are all grown, we have one grandchild and one on the way…and I'm enjoying spending more time at home. But my fans always show up to have a good time, and I'm going to give them the best show I can for this Last Call."

In 2021, Jackson revealed his ongoing health battle with a degenerative nerve condition called Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, following a diagnosis in 2011.

"I have this neuropathy and neurological disease," Jackson said during a "Today" show interview at the time. "It's genetic that I inherited from my daddy. There's no cure for it, but it's been affecting me for years. And it's getting more and more obvious."

Lately, all the greats of country music have been sharing similar news. Last week, the King of Country music, George Strait, brought his fans to tears when he said he had only "five good years" left to sing his songs following a career spanning half a century, RedState reported.

At a performance in Philadelphia last week, Strait, 72, performed his 2011 song "I'll Always Remember You," which contains a spoken bridge about his potential retirement. When a fan shared a video of the performance on social media, many fans expressed sadness at the subject matter.

"I have maybe five good years to sing my songs for you folks," Strait said in the song. "But hell, it's been around 50 now. And I still love it just as much as I ever did. When I walk through those curtains and I see your smiling faces, my feet don't touch the ground again until I walk back out and get on that bus. I don't know how many more years I can do this. I figure a few. I do want you to know, though, when I do walk off this stage and I'm settled in far away from all this, I'll still hear your screams and cheers in my mind, and I will always remember you."
