Chris Cuomo tells Republicans "You Reap What You Sow"

Chris Cuomo, whose career as a journalist can best be described as a terrible live action role play, was interviewing Glenn Beck about all things Donald Trump, when he told Beck that Republicans “reap what they sow” when it comes to the billionaire business mogul. His logic is that the Republicans are always harping on about opposing government. So, Donald Trump is our fault.

Cuomo: Is there a little bit of reap what you sow in some of this with the GOP, that engendering and oppositional mode towards government, in ratcheting up negativity as a mainline discourse, you wound up somewhat birthing Donald Trump?

And now some of those people who were angry about what was going on and telling people to be angry, now they’ve got somebody who is harnessing the power of exactly that, and you’re disappointed.

Cuomo is, of course, being completely objective, and as objective journalists are wont to do, he only focused on the GOP’s role in the problems of the nation and the world. What Cuomo either fails to understand, or more likely chooses to ignore, is that the stalemate in Washington, the increased partisan divide, and the inability of Washington to change its ways is a bipartisan issue. Democrats are just as guilty for being partisan Democrats as Republicans are for being partisan Republicans.

The only difference between the two is that Democrats stand together while Republicans fight among themselves over party identity. Is the Republican Party the party of actual conservatism, or is it the part of special interests and maintaining power at the expense of the good of the nation?

The rise of Bernie Sanders indicates that reckoning is coming the Democrats’ way, however.
