Lies, Damn Lies, and Democrats

A few days ago, I wrote about Joe Biden’s colorful life of lies. He’s spent his entire public life lying about his private life, and then lying about the lies. He a congenital serial liar, but in his donkey party, he isn’t alone. Democrats have always been quick to lie, exaggerate, and conflate.

With illegal immigration at an all-time high, Biden acolytes claim that Joe Biden doesn’t need to see, first hand, the border carnage he’s caused–because he’s “seen the photos.” It reminds me of one of my favorite moments in Democratland, and the City of Lies, that is, Angels. That would be the city of Los Angeles, California.

Back in 2010, Obama was president. Arizona, sick of the constant influx of illegals that, in 2010, were estimated at 460,000, passed SB 1070. SB 1070 was a sweeping immigration law that Democrats went nuts over. Not happy nuts, stark raving nuts kind of nuts. The  Oscar winner for leading nut was an LA city councilmember named Ed Reyes. In 13-1 vote, LA banned official travel to Arizona and barred contracts with the neighboring state.

During council debate, Ed Reyes claimed:

As an American, I cannot go to Arizona today without a passport. If I come across an officer who’s having a bad day and feels that the picture on my ID is not me, I can be . . . deported, no questions asked. That is not American.

Yeah, you’re right, Einstein.

Others on the same city council compared Arizona to Nazi Germany, and the proposed law to the Holocaust.

A primer:

Before Nazi Germany started rounding up and exterminating Jews, it classified them as Untermenschen ( inferior people). Jews had their property stolen, and what wasn’t stolen was destroyed; those Jews, were German citizens. German Jews were required to register and carry papers identifying themselves as Jews… and that was pleasant Nazi Germany.

SA, SS, and Gestapo roamed the streets of Germany. After the war got rolling, Nazi Germany perfected its plan at the Wannsee Conference, after which Jews in all occupied territories were ordered exterminated en masse. Nazi exterminators were killing men, women, and children so fast they had a disposal problem – and thus invented their mass murder crematoriums. Nazis threw living children into burning ovens, because it was cheaper than gassing them.

Back to Ed Reyes and Arizona. Some of you might be saying: Oh, come on, Jim, you have to be making this up. No chance that is true and not a parody. Are you working for the Babylon Bee now? Well, dear reader, we are dealing with the party of Hank Johnson–the man who once asked a four-star admiral, if we put too many people on one side of Guam, would it tip over and…capsize?

Let’s examine the law:

“The law”  will not allow the physically or mentally disabled to immigrate. The law is very clear that aliens cannot show “contempt against national sovereignty.” Aliens who seek to immigrate cannot burden the state, and no persons with criminal records are allowed in. If you evade a deportation order, it’s punishable as a felony with 10 years in prison. You don’t get multiple hearings on deportation – once you’re ordered to leave, you’re deported.

I can see where Councilman Ed would be burned up and in a boycotting mood.

Oops. My mistake. Those are all portions of federal immigration law… in Mexico.

Some portions of the Arizona law didn’t survive on appeal, but most did. It’s still on the books, as of today. Remember the estimated illegal population in Arizona in 2010? It was 460,000. What is it as of 2020? 273,000. Wait – the number of illegals dropped after AB 1070?

Hmmm….
