With Gavin Newsom having escaped recall, statists in California are emboldened and wasting no time moving forward with their total control, anti-science agenda. The first ghoul to gleefully issue new health orders is, unsurprisingly, Los Angeles County’s Not-a-Doctor Barbara Ferrer.

Ferrer told the county’s Board of Supervisors Wednesday that the order, to be issued later this week, will require proof of vaccination for employees and customers of indoor bars, wineries, breweries, nightclubs and lounges. Said customers and employees must have their first dose by October 7 and second by November 4. The order will also recommend proof of vax for customers in indoor portions of restaurants.

Additionally, the updated health order will enhance the restrictions on outdoor mega-events. Back in April, the county issued an order mandating masks for mega-events with more than 10,000 people in attendance. The new order will reportedly require all attendees, employees, and participants at outdoor mega-events to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination or a negative COVID test within 72 hours of the event.

“This modified health officer order aligns with the continued need to reduce risk of transmission and increase vaccination coverage,” Ferrer told the Board of Supervisors. “This is a reasonable path forward that will position us to be better able to break the cycle of surges.”

She said county health officials “believe that targeted vaccine mandates are now a very important strategy for quickly raising vaccination coverage across our county and ending the pandemic.”

There are so many things wrong or nonsensical about this mandate. One is that natural antibodies don’t count. Another is, there is seemingly no language in the mandate allowing for a religious or medical exemption. Then, who is going to pay for all of these negative COVID tests needed for people who still want to go to mega events? And, the alleged Delta variant surge (I say “alleged” because individuals aren’t notified if their infection is Delta variant or not) is on the decline in California. Finally, why are bars/wineries/breweries/nightclubs singled out? If we’re at grave risk indoors at one place, then we’re at grave risk indoors everywhere.

Look for Newsom to enact a similar health order as soon as he comes down from last night’s high.
