On Thursday, Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) issued a new statement updating on his health.
Sen. Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., said Thursday he has been discharged from a rehabilitation facility after a fall at his Kentucky home in mid-June that left him hospitalized.
"Earlier today, I was discharged from the rehabilitation center to continue my recovery at home. Elaine and I are grateful for the many well wishes and support from friends, colleagues, and Kentuckians, and for the attentive care I’ve received from excellent doctors, nurses, therapists, and hospital staff," he said, referring to his wife, Elaine Chao.
McConnell said he will remain at home during the Senate's upcoming state work period as he continues his recovery.
Fox News' chief congressional correspondent Chad Pergram commented on this new development, and indicated that McConnell would not be returning to the Senate until the fall, when the August recess — which has yet to begin — has concluded.

RedState has covered Sen. McConnell's health crisis from the beginning, as well as the fallout from his office and staff's lack of transparency concerning the senator's condition.
As RedState reported, McConnell was rushed to the hospital on June 14, and for several weeks, his staff maintained radio silence and would not release updates on his condition. After much internet outcry, social media conspiracies, and a letter from Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear (D) begging for an update on McConnell's condition, the senator and his wife Elaine Chao supplied a full written statement and a "proof of life" photo to allay concerns on July 12.
On July 27, McConnell issued a second statement updating on his improving health, along with a new photo. The Congressional Office of the Attending Physician (OAP) also issued a statement in conjunction with McConnell's letting the public know that the senator was not cleared to return to his full duties. As of this writing, OAP has not issued any new statements on McConnell's fitness to return to the Senate. The senator's new statement continued:
"On the advice of my doctors, I’ll maintain an intensive regimen of physical therapy from home during the state work period, and I’ll continue to engage with my staff and colleagues on important Senate business."
For those who had a "wait and see" attitude toward McConnell's hospitalization, the reasons behind the firewall of silence, and his current release from rehab and return to home, this latest development gives them more fodder to mock the ghouls, naysayers, and conspiracy theorists who claimed McConnell was dead and Republicans were simply covering this up.
