Well, this says it all: Joe Biden is running. Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker went to Twitter to announce that Chicago has been chosen to host the 2024 Democrat National Convention.

California Governor Gavin Newsom hardest hit. In between going on expensive resort vacations, Newsom has been running a shadow campaign, testing the waters for his 2024 presidential run, and basically shouting, “Look at me! Look AT ME!” with all his red state stops, Twitter videos, and interviews on MSNBC with Jen Psaki and Brian Cohen.

Newsom is bought and paid for by the Getty family who are like surrogate parents to this lost boy. Pritzker is of the Pritzker dynasty that owns the Hyatt Hotels chain, and who helped fund and elect President Barack Obama. J.B. Pritzker’s sister is Penny Pritzker, noted philanthropist, political operative, and former Secretary of Commerce under President Obama. So, Pritzker and Newsom will drag their “whose the most well-oiled elitist” competition onto the presidential trail.

From the Chicago Sun-Times:

The Democratic National Committee selected Chicago to host the 2024 Democratic National Convention, the Sun-Times has learned, with the city beating bids from Atlanta and New York.

The convention will take place Aug. 19-22 next year. It is expected to draw between 5,000 and 7,000 delegates and alternates and attract up to 50,000 visitors to Chicago.

Evening events will be at the United Center — the main site of the 1996 Democratic convention in Chicago — with daytime business to be conducted at the McCormick Place Convention Center, the location of the 2012 NATO Summit.

Delegates will be housed in about 30 hotels in Chicago.

For more than a year, Gov. J.B. Pritzker, Sen. Tammy Duckworth, D-Ill., a co-chair of the Democratic National Committee and Mayor Lori Lightfoot have led a drive for Chicago to host the Democrats in 2024.

And look at the thanks they gave poor Lori Lightfoot—they voted her out. So much for being a team player.

It is clear that Pritzker is Team Biden.

The convention will showcase the Biden agenda, values and the president’s accomplishments. The policies and agendas of Biden and Pritzker are closely aligned.

Illinois has an assault weapons ban, abortion rights locked in and workers’ rights laws. Pritzker’s Rebuild Illinois capital plan and the city has been boosted by Biden’s signature infrastructure law. In January, Vice President Kamala Harris visited Chicago to announce $144 million in federal funding from the infrastructure law to rehabilitate the Illinois International Port Calumet River Bridges.

Chicago was chosen after getting top grades in an evaluation by the DNC’s Technical Advisory Group, a panel of experts considering factors such as hotel capacity, transportation, security, financing and other logistics.

The Chicago Police have been reduced to writing parking tickets and chasing hate crime hoaxes, so Pritzker and Co. have their work cut out for them, and will probably budget for lots of private security. Chicago’s crime rate is as bad as… well, Los Angeles and San Francisco. Lots of shuttered storefronts too, as the crime has driven out small business owners.

To replace Lightfoot, Chicago just elected Brandon Johnson, a straight-up commie who has advocated for defunding the police, as the new Chicago Mayor. So, Johnson pretty much plans to finish the job that Lori Lightfoot started of killing off the police force. Pritzker has embraced him with open arms, of course.

Pritzker acknowledged that the victory for Johnson, arguably the most leftist Democratic politician in modern times who was elected to lead Chicago, represents something different for a city that has traditionally elected more centrist Democrats.

“Look, he’s younger than most of the mayors that have gotten elected. He’s somebody who comes out of an activist background. I think there’s a lot to admire about, and he’s a teacher, and I believe that he will bring a certain vibrancy to the city,” said Pritzker.

Yeah… it’s going to take a whole lot of Cape Cod silver polish to bring any vibrancy back to Chicago. Fox News correspondent Sandra Smith, who was born and raised in Chicago, pointed out some inconvenient truths about the failure of Chicago’s policies, particularly in the area of business:

More from the Sun-Times:

President Joe Biden called Pritzker to tell him about Chicago’s selection on Tuesday morning before leaving for Ireland.

Biden thanked Pritzker for “all of his support,” and told him, “I just want you to know we’re planning on having the Democratic convention in Chicago,” according to a source with direct knowledge of the call.

“You know that Chicago is your kind of town. We’re going to throw a huge party, and it’s going to be a real big celebration of all of your successes,” Pritzker said.

Biden’s “successes.” All two of them, apparently.

By selecting Chicago for the convention, Democrats are highlighting the importance of the Midwest “Blue Wall” states — Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan and Minnesota. The governors in these states, all Democrats, were all reelected in 2022.

This was pretty much a done deal. Pritzker is swimming in money and practically funded the search committee.

The entity created to fundraise for the convention, Development Now Chicago, was incorporated with the Illinois secretary of state on Dec. 2, 2021. Pritzker, a billionaire, made a substantial contribution to the group.

Pritzker, like his California counterpart Gavin Newsom, lies with a straight face, and then when called on it, pretends he never said it. Pritzker hasn’t stated he wants to be president, but he does have ambitions for some kind of national role. So, his social medial reflects his support of abortion and so-called “reproductive freedom,” a heavy commitment (and heavy funding) to the transgender lobby and “synthetic sex identities” (SSI), and more calls promoting gun control and draconian safety measures in a state that has some of the strictest gun laws, yet some of the highest gun crime in the nation.

Like in California, it requires independent media and actual residents, to spotlight the true reality of the situation.

Congratulations to Chicago. I’m saving my popcorn for the ensuing drama that is bound to occur between Pritzker and Newsom once Newsom declares.
