Despite Evidence to the Contrary, Gavin Newsom Still Thinks He's King

California Governor Gavin Newsom’s approval rating is plummeting like a boulder in Hume Lake. The efforts by California constituents of every stripe to Recall him is looking more and more successful as each day passes with 1.8 million signatures collected. Yet, Newsom continues to beclown himself by tweeting nonsense at Republican governors who listen to their people and actually know how to run their states.

My colleague Sister Toldjah recapped:

We reported yesterday on how both Texas and Mississippi made big announcements Tuesday regarding the lifting of certain COVID-related mandates.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott and Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves, both Republicans, lifted their mask mandates and set the stage for businesses in their respective states to be able to be fully open and operational again.

“Today, I’m opening a new executive order that rescinds most of the earlier executive orders. Effective next Wednesday, all businesses of any type are allowed to open 100%. That includes any entity in Texas. Also, I am ending the statewide mask mandate,” Abbott said.

“Starting tomorrow, we are lifting all of our county mask mandates and businesses will be able to operate at full capacity without any state-imposed rules. Our hospitalizations and case numbers have plummeted, and the vaccine is being rapidly distributed. It is time!” Reeves tweeted.

In response to the news that Texas was planning to eliminate mask mandates and fully reopen, Newsom tweeted:

No, Gavin, I think you’re thinking about your indoor dinner at the French Laundry when the citizens of California were under your lockdown orders.

But Newsom is still touring the State, coming up with half-assed plans to reopen the schools, pretending he has everything under control with COVID and the vaccines, and deluded to the fact that all this posturing only makes him appear even more weak and desperate.

At a vaccine rollout presser on the Central Coast, His Hairfulness decided to comment on other states who are wisely reopening; states whose governors are not a complete laughingstock.

From a San Luis Obispo local zine:

“We’re never going to subscribe to the point of view of some of the other states,” he said during a press conference in San Luis Obispo regarding California’s coronavirus vaccination rollout. “There was one large state today that said, ‘No masks, everything goes back to normal’ in the midst of a pandemic.”

“We’re a little more mindful and sober of the potency of these variants and mutations, as well,” Newsom said. “A little mindful and sober of the experience we had last summer, where we moved forward and ultimately had to revert back, and we don’t want to do that ever again.”

A little more mindful and sober“? Sounds like that $15,000 dollars worth of wine talking.

Along with trying to save his political life, Newsom is just being a good disciple. As my colleague Becca Lower reported, if it’s up to Biden, the CDC, and Fauci, any return to a normal life is going to be on their timetable, and not ours. Governor Greg Abbott of Texas, and Governor Tate Reeves of Mississippi failed to get the memo, and his Hairfulness just wanted them to know that he is the only one worthy, because he follows the true “science”.

Press Secretary Raggedy Jen also warned about political leaders ignoring “the science”.

And Biden was medicated enough to weigh in on how critical following “the science” is:

I suspect that all the Democrats do is chant: “The science, the science, the science” in front of the mirror every morning as if it’s some magic talisman. In Governor Hair Gel’s case, he thinks that talisman is going to keep him from being recalled.

It’s happening, and not a moment too soon. Because California didn’t elect someone to be King, but someone capable of listening to the will of the people and who governs.
