Fulton County, Georgia District Attorney Fani Willis has been a lightning rod for controversy after allegations surfaced indicating that she had an improper romantic relationship with one of the prosecutors she placed on the election interference case against former President Donald Trump.

Now Nathan Wade, Willis’ alleged lover, is facing an ethics complaint filed by none other than Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA). The lawmaker filed the complaint on Thursday alleging that he had engaged in a series of ethical violations.

On Thursday morning, the firebrand conservative lawmaker filed a complaint with Georgia's ethics commission against Nathan Wade, an outside attorney whom Willis hired for the Trump case and allegedly engaged in an inappropriate romantic relationship with, alleging "potential serious violations" of state law over his purported failure to register and file lobbyist paperwork disclosing "his solicitation" of Willis and "excessive gifts" to the prosecutor.

"Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis stands credibly accused of using Fulton County and federal COVID funds to pay her unqualified, secret boyfriend Nathan Wade--who has never tried a felony case–$250 per hour to collude with the Biden White House counsel and help Fani Willis bring unprecedented RICO felony charges against President Trump and 18 co-defendants," Greene wrote in the complaint shared with Fox News Digital.

"Willis allegedly paid her secret boyfriend a significantly higher hourly rate than another one of her special prosecutors who actually has significant experience," she continued. "And with the nearly $700,000 Wade has collected in government funds as one of Willis' special prosecutors, he has allegedly taken her on a luxury Caribbean cruise, a trip to Napa, and other lavish trips."

Greene argued that the Georgia Campaign Finance Act “requires that lobbyists report their efforts to sway the discretion of lawmakers, administrators, and district attorneys in the discharge of their duties” and said that Wade’s law firm is a state vendor and lobbyist. She noted that Wade did not register as a lobbyist and file monthly spending reports over the past three years.

This is the latest development in the ongoing saga surrounding Willis and Wade. Trump and one of his co-defendants have moved to disqualify Willis from the prosecution against them.

Now, Trump’s team has joined in on an effort to disqualify Willis from the case, a move that could impact the trajectory of the prosecution against him.

In a court filing earlier this month, attorneys for Trump co-defendant Mike Roman said, without offering specific corroborating evidence, that Willis and the special prosecutor she hired to work on the case "have been engaged in an improper, clandestine personal relationship."

Roman's motion alleges funds that the prosecutor, Nathan Wade, earned through the case were being used to pay for lavish vacations, but there is no evidence of these claims. The filing attributes the allegations to unnamed "sources close to both the special prosecutor and the district attorney."

In a six-page filing Thursday, the former president's Georgia legal team adopted Roman's motion which claimed "that an improper intimate personal relationship existed between Special Prosecutor Wade and District Attorney (DA) Willis, that Wade has been paid over $650,000 by the DA, and that taxpayer monies were used by Wade to take the DA on lavish vacations."

Willis' office is scheduled to respond to the allegations in a court filing by Feb. 2.

The allegations are explosive as Trump’s team contends that the alleged affair not only presents a serious conflict of interest but also involves a misuse of public resources. If these claims are substantiated, it could discredit the integrity of the prosecution and potentially lead to a dismissal of charges against Trump and his co-defendants.

Willis has not outright denied the allegations of the improper relationship, but she has responded by claiming the revelations are the result of racism. She also accused Wade’s wife of collaborating with Trump’s team to discredit her.

The judge presiding over Trump’s election interference case has set a February date for a hearing to look into the allegations against Willis and Wade.
