It was obvious when he tried to get people fired from their jobs for refusing to take the experimental vaccine even after it became known that it did not necessarily stop the spread of the virus. This man had no problem using the power of the federal government to compel companies to adhere to the whims of his COVID regime.

Now, it has been reported that the Justice Department under Biden is not only targeting former President Donald Trump in what can only be seen as a politically motivated effort to prevent him from running again in 2024, but they are also even going after his allies – all for engaging in speech that is protected by the First Amendment.

News of dozens of subpoenas being sent by the DOJ to Trump supporters broke on Friday and was finally confirmed on Monday. The subpoenas, which were ostensibly tied to investigations surrounding January 6th, targeted over 40 people. Two more phones were seized from Trump associates as well, including his in-house counsel.

So what was the offense that these subpoenas were issued for? According to Fox News’ Tucker Carlson, the DOJ is looking into “Any claim that the Vice President and/or the President of the Senate had the authority to reject or choose not to count presidential electors.”

The subpoena also requested “all documents and communications” that related to evidence “tending to show that there was fraud of any kind in or relating to the 2020 Presidential Election,” among other things.

It also requested documents and communications “relating to any information conveyed to you or to any other person challenging, rebutting, undercutting, tending to show, or claiming that there was no fraud in the 2020 Presidential Election, or claiming or tending to show that any allegation of fraud was unfounded, baseless, or incorrect in whole or in part.”

This is only a taste of what was in the documents sent to over 40 Trump associates. Essentially, the DOJ is demanding communications with information or messages dealing with opinions on the outcome of the 2020 presidential election.

The notion that Biden’s Justice Department would even consider, much less carry out, such action against political opponents should be a chilling development regardless of one’s political affiliation. The agency is targeting these individuals for simply talking about the security and fairness of an election, which is not illegal.

It is obvious what is happening here. The geriatric authoritarian in the White House and his cronies are once again using the power of the federal government to go after political opponents. This is an effort to intimidate those who might dare to voice opinions Democrats do not like. It is a blatant weaponization of the DOJ for political purposes and even casts more doubt on the impetus behind the FBI’s search of Trump’s home.

At this point, it is nearly impossible to argue that the federal government is not acting politically. This type of action is not only unnecessary, it is a prime example of overreach. Unfortunately, the activist media is not going to ask questions. They are not going to point out the obvious problems inherent in the Biden administration’s actions. Instead, they are going to follow along quietly because Orange Man Bad.

This is setting a horrific precedent – one that Democrats won’t like if a Republican president decides to return the favor after 2024. It is one thing to dislike Trump and seek to make sure he does not win the next election. But it is quite another to leverage the federal government to accomplish this objective. Even this move might be enough to tear the nation further apart. But if you think this is bad – just wait to see what Biden’s DOJ has planned for after the upcoming midterm elections. I hate to say it, but this is going to get even uglier.
