After One Tweet From a Woke Bully, Harris Teeter Folds and Removes Patriotic Koozies From Stores

And another corporation bites the woke dust. Harris Teeter (which is owned by Kroger) is receiving an outpouring of criticism over their decision to remove patriotic koozies from their shelves after hypersensitive woke types threw a hissy fit about it on social media.

One customer expressed their outrage at these products on Twitter, claiming that some of these items featured sayings that were insensitive in light of recent mass shootings that occurred in Buffalo, New York, and Uvalde, Texas. One slogan was Patrick Henry’s “Give me liberty or give me death” quote, and another, “America, love it or leave it.”

The user tweeted: “Why are you allowing this type of item to be sold at your grocery store in Huntersville NC? Clearly in light of the recent mass shootings, you can understand how this IS NOT a good idea.”

From this one tweet, Harris Teeter decided to discontinue the “Freedom Series” line of products. “Thanks for reaching out,” the company tweeted in response. “As soon as these items were brought to our attention we put a recall request into place and these items are being removed from all store locations.”

Another whiner supposed customer, Christy Clark, who is running for Congress in North Carolina, took issue with a koozie that read “Arms Change, Rights Don’t.” Clark, who’s also Moms Demand’s Twitter Lead, said: “110 Americans die every day from gun violence and most recently children, educators, health care providers, and family members were killed in mass shootings. Please remove them.”

The company responded:

“Thanks for reaching out, Christy. As soon as these items were brought to our attention we put a recall request into place and these items are being removed from all store locations. We appreciate your concern.”

It appears you can’t win for losing when you bow to the woke mob – which they should have known in North Carolina. Shortly after the company acquiesced, they began receiving criticism from non-woke folks who saw how ridiculous the whole thing is. “Then don’t buy it? No that’s not enough, you have to exert control over others,” one user responded to a tweet complaining about the products.

Conservative commentator Carmine Sabia also responded. “Are you kidding? Do you people start on bended knee or is it like half bent and just waiting for a tweet?” he tweeted.

There were tons of others responding to the company, saying they would stop shopping there because of their apparent cowardice.

What is truly amazing about this story is how easily the company folded because of a few people on Twitter. Usually, there has to be a coordinated upswell of outrage against these organizations before they bend the knee. But now, all is needed is for a few woke-ist crybullies on Twitter to start making a stink and these companies fall all over themselves to appease them.

Perhaps if sane folks are willing to make more noise than the wokies, these companies might see that they will lose more money giving these children what they want than they would if they hold the line.
