Here’s Why Border Patrol Agents are Calling BS on Biden’s Remarks About Migrant Crisis

At this point, it might be a miracle to find more than one person who actually believes President Joe Biden is taking seriously the migrant crisis he caused. A recent report reveals that even Border Patrol agents feel he is not making a serious effort to deal with the problem.

During his State of the Union speech on Tuesday, Biden declared his intention to secure the southern border. “Folks, if we are to advance liberty and justice, we need to secure our border and fix the immigration system,” the president said. “And as you might guess, I think we can do both.”

This got a reaction from Democratic lawmakers pretending that they also wish to secure the border. But nobody else seemed to take Biden’s remarks seriously.

Warning: contains coarse language.

“Very few people within CBP believe this administration will actually secure the border, they just do not believe in it,” one agent said during an appearance on Fox News Digital. “All of their actions, comments and practices are solely about pushing in as many illegal aliens as possible, not just those from the Americas but from around the world.”

Another agent told the news outlet that Biden’s comments were “f—ing pandering 101, full of sh–.”

Still another agent said they did not even bother to watch the speech because they “[f]igured it would be all lies and smoke…we’re losing so many agents, they’re fed up.”

Former acting Homeland Security Secretary Chad Wolf criticized the Biden administration as well. “That mention of border and immigration security was lip service. Nothing more. No vision, no strategy,” he commented. “Just a wish list and another hollow push for immigration reform legislation. I think the President may have forgotten he has authority to fix the crisis NOW.”

Fox News reported:

There were approximately 1.7 million migrant encounters at the border in Fiscal Year 2021 as numbers flooded to the border. The Biden administration has blamed “root causes” like violence and poverty in Central America, but Republicans (and many Border Patrol agents) have pointed to the rollback of Trump-era border protections, reduced interior enforcement and calls from Washington D.C. for amnesty for illegal immigrants as fueling the surge.

Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced they experienced 153,941 encounters with migrants in January 2022. This number represents a significant increase from last January, when the agency reported 78,414 encounters.

The president claimed the White House installed “new technology like cutting-edge scanners to better detect drug smuggling” and began joint patrols with Mexican and Guatemalan authorities to track down and apprehend traffickers. However, Border Patrol agents indicated these measures are essentially useless, if there are not enough agents to deal with the matter.

“Immigration judges usually tend to follow the tendencies or intentions of their appointing administration, that means I and many other agents have little faith in them to actually follow immigration law,” the agent told Fox News. “The vast majority of these illegal aliens have no legitimate claims to asylum but administration-picked and taxpayer-funded lawyers will argue otherwise. Unemployment, inability to buy groceries, domestic violence, bad schools and bad weather are not legitimate claims, period.”

None of this should come as a surprise. It was clear from the beginning that curbing illegal immigration would not be high on Biden’s list of priorities. Soon after taking office, he reversed most of former President Donald Trump’s immigration policies, making it easier for illegal aliens and asylum seekers to enter the country.

This prompted a flood of migrants to swarm the southern border. This, combined with an increased influx of individuals attempting to enter the country illegally, has placed a great strain on Border Patrol. The agency has reported being stretched thin as it attempts to apprehend illegals crossing the border, processing asylum claims, and housing unaccompanied minors who traveled to the southern border without parents or adult guardians.

The Biden administration has sought to remove as many barriers to entry for illegals as possible. It even attempted to do away with the Migrant Protection Protocols (MPP), also known as the “Remain in Mexico” policy under which asylum seekers would be required to wait in Mexico for their applications to be evaluated.

Even worse, this president has not lifted a finger to implement policies that would actually stem the flow of migrants to the southern border. One would think that if he was going to rescind Trump’s policies just to be petty, he would have at least created programs that would do a better job at dealing with the problem.

But he didn’t, and we all know why.

Biden and his merry band of Democrats don’t want to stop illegal immigration. Indeed, the more illegals crossing the border, the better. It has been obvious for years that the left has supported open borders policies so they can gain electoral advantages in the future. There is a reason why they seek to provide a pathway to citizenship for tens of millions of illegal aliens currently residing in the country. Unfortunately, it does not seem likely that anything will be done about this until Democrats no longer have control of the White House.
