I Tested Positive for COVID; Here Are My Thoughts

Last Friday, I woke up with my throat feeling scratchy. It has actually started the day before, but I figured I was just catching a cold. As the day progressed, aches began making their way throughout my joints and muscles. Later, I was coughing. Chills racked my body, and I needed to bundle up tight to avoid feeling like I was transforming into a jeffsicle. Finally, a deepening fatigue crept its way into my system, and my thoughts became clouded and murky.

At that point, I decided to take a test. Like a woman wondering whether she is carrying a child, I waited 30 minutes after sticking the swab up my nose. Sure enough, the second line materialized on the test, and I knew.

I got the ‘rona, y’all.

It wasn’t too much of a surprise. Despite having been double vaxxed last year, I knew the Omicron variant was still infecting folks — regardless of whether they rolled their sleeves up or not. But now, about eight days later, I’m on the mend. I’m still feeling weak and exhausted, but the chills and aches have stopped, and I am no longer coughing. My breathing has improved dramatically. I’m not back to 100 percent yet – that might take another week or so – but I think I’m out of the worst of it.

But going through the process got me thinking about something I’d been stewing on since I listened to Dr. Peter McCollough on Joe Rogan’s podcast. Yes, I know that is forbidden knowledge as far as the left is concerned – but who the hell cares what they and Neil Young think?

I’ve been contemplating the entire course of the COVID pandemic since it came to prominence early in 2020. Near the end of 2020, the vaccine that we all know and love was developed, and the White House, Democratic politicians, and their close friends and allies in the activist media pushed hard to persuade, cajole, coerce, and even compel Americans to take the jab.

The COVID regime brooked no dissent – they dismissed any talk of alternative treatment. When former President Donald Trump so much as mentioned the possibility that hydroxychloroquine could be used to treat the disease, the left flew off the deep end, pretending he was literally getting people killed. They even went so far as to pretend he suggested that Americans grab Clorox out of their laundry rooms, put it in a syringe, and inject themselves to kill the virus.

After President Joe Biden took office, his team began pushing a plan to get 75 percent of Americans to take at least one dose of the vaccine by July 4, 2021. Of course, like every other situation this administration has faced, it failed to reach its goal and then passed blame for its ineptitude.

At no point did the White House, along with pushing vaccines, also emphasize the importance of early treatment methods. Indeed, the Biden administration and the activist media ridiculed anyone who questioned vaccines or explored other treatment options like monoclonal antibodies. As of now, the White House is limiting the supply of these treatments — even without evidence that they are ineffective against the Omicron variant. When Ivermectin showed promise, the left lied and attempted to make it seem as if large numbers of Americans were going to the hospital for taking horse dewormer.

However, the Wall Street Journal noted a study showing that the drug can be used to alleviate the symptoms of COVID-19:

Ivermectin fights 21 viruses, including SARS-CoV-2, the cause of Covid-19. A single dose reduced the viral load of SARS-CoV-2 in cells by 99.8% in 24 hours and 99.98% in 48 hours, according to a June 2020 study published in the journal Antiviral Research.

Some 70 clinical trials are evaluating the use of Ivermectin for treating Covid-19. The statistically significant evidence suggests that it is safe and works for both treating and preventing the disease.

When the president cut off the supply of monoclonal antibody treatments to Florida, the state’s Surgeon General, Dr. Joseph Ladapo, was not happy.

“In our field of medicine, when someone comes to you seeking a treatment that could save their life, it is essential to have treatment options to ensure health care providers can make the best decisions for their patients.

The Federal Government has failed to adequately provide the United States with adequate outpatient treatment options for COVID-19. Now, they are scrambling to cover up a failure to deliver on a promise to ‘shut down the virus.’”

The real problem here is that the Biden administration has been more concerned with getting people vaccinated than saving lives, and these two are not necessarily the same thing. If the president and his team were truly concerned with saving lives, they would push all potential solutions on the table. The problem is that because they only cared about the vaccine, acknowledging the efficacy of other treatment options would make it harder to compel more people to take the jab.

While the left is struggling to get the public behind their effort to get Joe Rogan fired, they are deliberately distracting from this issue. They don’t want us thinking more deeply about what was said on his show. Indeed, they seek to keep us from asking an important question: How many people have died because they did not have adequate access to early treatment methods? How many more lives could have been saved if the White House and activist media gave early treatment options a fair shot, along with the vaccination, instead of focusing solely on ONE solution?

We might never be able to answer that question.

Even further, the left would rather us not even consider it.

To them, it was better to allow the unvaccinated to perish rather than to also emphasize treatment for those who became infected. It likely even affected people like myself, who became infected despite being vaccinated. It made more sense to use the issue as a political cudgel to be used against people who so much as whispered a suggestion that — perhaps — other methods than the vaccine could be employed against the virus.

It won’t be too much longer before I am back to 100 percent. I can say that for myself, this is because of Ivermectin and other supplements that were recommended to me by a doctor. Fortunately, I did not need monoclonal antibodies or similar methods. But others might be in a more precarious situation, all because some didn’t like the idea of people making their own medical decisions.

As we enter the post-COVID era, we cannot forget what our government did with the help of the activist media. Recommending a vaccination was not the problem. The problem emerged when they tried to keep Americans away from looking into other ways to treat the virus as an alternative. If they are willing to go this far, how much worse could they become? Perhaps it is best to make sure they are unable to force us to find out.
