Here’s How the Biden Administration Plans to Target Gun Ownership

Isn’t it great when the hard left lets you know how they plan to get their latest asinine initiative over on the American public? Even before taking office, President Joe Biden made it abundantly clear that his administration would be taking action against gun ownership, promising a slew of restrictions on firearms.

But, as always, the question they must consider is: “How will we con the American public into accepting these new measures?”

This is where the threat of domestic terrorism becomes a quite handy political tool. A recent Politico report revealed that the Biden administration might use terrorism to justify its endeavor to further limit gun ownership. In the piece, the author states that “polarization,” “misinformation,” “bigotry,” and “racism” are all elements that fuel “domestic extremism.”

But according to a high-ranking White House official, guns are also factors in this perilous equation. Joshua Geltzer, the deputy homeland security adviser at the National Security Council, told Politico that “easy access to firearms – especially certain types of firearms – can make acts of domestic terrorism more feasible to undertake and more lethal once they happen.”

Geltzer continued:

As this administration works … to address some of the challenges associated with the widespread availability of firearms in this country, we are doing so with the knowledge that that is a priority in and of itself — as well as one that relates to the stepped-up efforts that we’re undertaking to address domestic terrorists.

According to the report, Geltzer spearheaded the first “National Strategy for Countering Domestic Terrorism,” in which he gathered experts in government to understand the potential threats and develop plans to address them. One of the significant components of the plan involves “reducing access to assault weapons and high-capacity magazines and enforcing legal prohibitions that keep firearms out of dangerous hands.”

Sounds familiar, does it not?

During his interview with Politico’s NatSec Daily, Geltzer was asked if he believed more gun laws were critical to curtailing domestic terrorism. His response:

I think tackling things that feed into the domestic terrorism challenge is an imperative, and there are a lot of things that feed into it. Easy access to certain types of firearms feeds into it. But so does, for example, polarization fueled by disinformation. That can make recruitment to domestic terrorism causes easier and more likely.

Are you shocked yet?

As a side note: It’s no coincidence that the official also cited “misinformation” as another potential cause of domestic terrorism. His comments come only a week after the White House revealed it was flagging certain Facebook posts and pressuring the company to step up its effort to suppress “misinformation,” which is also known as “views that conflict with the Democrat-approved narrative about COVID-19 and vaccinations.”

I believe we can expect Democrats and their close friends and allies in the activist media to start using the threat of terrorism to further expand the effort to diminish conservative views online pretty soon. Big Tech will gladly use this as an excuse to throttle more right-leaning perspectives.

Nevertheless, the topic at hand is guns and how the Democrats wish to restrict them as much as possible, Second Amendment be damned. The reason why they are choosing the possibility of terrorist attacks is apparent: They can use it to play on the fears of Americans. This wouldn’t be the first time, either.

Remember when they tried to make the mass shooting at Pulse nightclub into a gun issue instead of a radical Islamic terrorist issue? What about the couple that carried out the attack in San Bernardino, CA? The left did the same with this incident as well.

The bottom line is that the left is willing to tell any lies they believe will help them bring their agenda to fruition. Since these people can never explain how the laws they propose would stop or even hinder the shootings they are exploiting, they have to play on emotion in the hopes that they can get people not to think critically about the claims Democrats are making.

The question is: Will it work? So far, it does not seem likely. Since Democrats have only slim majorities in both chambers of Congress, their prospects for ramming Biden’s agenda through are rather bleak. Since neither Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) nor Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ) is willing to abolish the filibuster, any anti-gun legislation is dead on arrival as the left will not be able to find any Republicans stupid enough to back such a measure.

However, this does not mean the Democrats will stop trying. Indeed, terrorism will likely become their favorite political weapon against gun ownership and free speech in the years to come.
