Thousands of Californians just told Gov. Gavin Newsom where he can stick his coronavirus curfew order. On Saturday, residents of the Golden State took to the streets in 16 cities to protest the governor’s curfew order that requires people to stay home between 10 pm and 5 am for one month.

People carrying Trump flags and “Open Up California” banners gathered in the streets at 10:01 pm to demonstrate against Newsom’s new rule. Syndie Ly, who helped to organize that protest told Breitbart News, “Governor Newsom’s sweeping edicts by moving 95 percent of California to purple tier and a curfew is an abuse of power.” She continued, explained that “We are all responsible adults so we can make our individual choices.”

“This movement is about us rising up for our freedom and against Governor Newsom’s overreaching edicts,” Ly concluded.

“This is tyrannical and government overreach on behalf of Gavin Newsom and other Democrat governors. The American people, as well as citizens of other countries need to stand up against this,” said Nancy Vu-Kerr, who took part in the Huntington Beach protest. “Our freedoms are truly at risk and all we need to do is look at the history of my mother country of Vietnam, and other countries of Venezuela, Cuba, Iran and others.”

Russ Taylor, who also helped to put on the demonstrations said that Californians shouldn’t become fearful. “We, as citizens, should be responsible, but we shouldn’t be so fearful that we live in a bubble and lose our personal liberties,” he told Breitbart News.

Rick Brown, who ran Tito Ortiz’s successful campaign for Huntington Beach City Council, told Breitbart that California residents have grown weary of the governor’s excessive restrictions. “The event last night was over 1,000 patriots pushing back against the undeclared martial law coming from Gavin Newsom, who had the audacity to declare all Californians be indoors by 10 p.m,” he said, “Well guess what?  We will NOT play in his sandbox anymore.”

The protests, which were called “Curfew Crashers,” were held in “ San Clemente, Yorba Linda, Huntington Beach, Riverside, Temecula, Brentwood, Santa Barbara, Santa Cruz, Patterson, Redlands, Sacramento, San Diego, La Quinta, Beverly Hills, and Brentwood,” according to Breitbart.

Newsom’s coronavirus restrictions have been met with fierce opposition from California residents who are fed up with living under even more rules. But it’s not just the civilian population that is pushing back. Recently, most sheriff’s offices in Southern California announced that they have no intention of enforcing Newsom’s curfew.

Add this protest to the fact that most Californians will likely disobey Newsom’s Thanksgiving restrictions, and it becomes clear that his coronavirus restrictions are dead-on-arrival. In fact, it is entirely possible that more of these protests will occur as long as Newsom is still trying to control the lives of California residents. One thing is clear, citizens living under Democratic governors who wish to impose further COVID-19 rules aren’t taking their abuses lying down.
