Here we go again. More Trump-deranged teachers are punishing their students for supporting President Donald Trump. In this case, a 17-year-old was targeted by two of his teachers over a Trump flag on his wall. 

A local ABC News affiliate in New Jersey reported that Anthony Ribeiro, a student at Toms River High School North, was singled out by two of his teachers over a Trump flag that was visible during Zoom virtual class sessions. Ribeiro told ABC News that during chemistry class, the teacher demanded that he remove the flag, which hangs on the wall behind him. 

“He said, ‘If you’re not gonna take it down, it’s unacceptable, and I’m gonna have to ask you to leave the class for today.’ At that point, I waved goodbye, and I was out of the class,” Ribeiro recounted.

The same scene played out the next day with another teacher in a different class. Ribeiro told ABC that in the second situation, he complied with the request to remove the Trump flag because he worried that being kicked out of another class could impact his grades. “If I had to do it again, I probably wouldn’t have because it’s what I stand for,” he explained. 

Upon learning about the student’s treatment, his family reached out to the school district, which reportedly agreed that the teachers’ conduct was inappropriate. According to ABC, the school district is dealing with the issue internally. Ribeiro’s family stated that they want an apology. 

“To me, it’s not about politics. It’s about something in our home that we had, and my son was taken away from his studies for it. It’s very upsetting to me and very frustrating that this teacher would do that,” Ribeiro’s mother, Tara Jost, told ABC.

It seems that every few weeks, we hear about another teacher who unfairly targets a student over political beliefs. On Oct 5, a teacher at a Tacoma, WA school excoriated one of his sixth-grade students for stating that they admired President Trump. The teacher said that the student’s comment was “inappropriate” because the president has “spoken hatred to many individuals.”

The fact that many teachers have felt emboldened to lash out at students over politics is quite disturbing, given that a significant number of our nation’s schools have infused progressive thought into their curricula. Not only are America’s children being inculcated into far-leftist thought, but some are also punished for having alternate points of view. 

It is also worth pointing out that we are likely only seeing a small portion of stories such as these. How many times have teachers abused their students over politics without it making the news? It is yet another reason why parents must be as involved in their children’s education as possible. These types of teachers will only get away with this behavior if the parents are not aware enough to hold them accountable.
