Things just keep getting worse for CNN. Their ratings, along with recent polls, reveal something everyone else already knows: Nobody wants to watch news reporting infused with Trump Derangement Syndrome. Americans are becoming tired of the incessant caterwauling about impeaching President Donald Trump.
Apparently, nobody wants to watch endless episodes of “Orange Man Bad.” Perhaps CNN Anchor Don Lemon wouldn’t have pulled off that dramatic fake outrage performance over a meme the other night if he knew what that type of behavior is doing to his employer.
On Thursday, Breitbart News’ John Nolte reported that CNN’s ratings decreased significantly over the past week. The fact that last week was full of nonstop coverage of the impeachment proceedings, one would think the numbers would be higher. But it seems Americans are not as interested in the hearings as the Democrats and their allies in the corporate media wish.
Nolte writes: “Compared to this same week last year, CNNLOL lost 14 percent of its primetime viewers and 15 percent of its total day viewers.”
He also points out that MSNBC, which is about as obsessed with impeachment as CNN, also saw a decline in viewership, losing “ a full 12 percent in primetime and five percent in total day … while the president of the United States is being impeached!”
Fox News, on the other hand, managed to increase its primetime audience by 31 percent and total day audience about 14 percent.
So what’s going on here?
Two recent polls might shed some light on this story. Quinnipiac released the results of a poll showing that 51 percent of registered voters believe that the President “should not be impeached and removed from office.” Those that believe he “should be impeached and removed” account for 45 percent of participants.
Monmouth provided similar findings with 50 percent stating that President Trump should not be impeached and removed from office and 45 percent believing the opposite. It’s worth pointing out that the percentages are still relatively close, with the nation’s registered voters split almost down the middle on impeachment.
So what does this mean?
It means that 50 percent of registered voters aren’t interested in the leftist media establishment’s quest to bring about the removal of President Trump. Since they disagree with the Democrats’ push for impeachment, they’re likely not interested in watching nonstop cheerleading for the likes of House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler (D-NY). It would then make sense that they aren’t tuning into CNN.
On the other hand, the 45 percent of Americans who do believe Trump should be impeached and removed likely know that despite the best efforts of Pelosi and the gang, the Senate will never vote to convict and remove the President. Common sense tells us that removal will not happen based on the supposed evidence that the Democrats have provided so far.
In fact, most Americans, regardless of where they stand on impeachment, don’t believe that removal will happen, meaning that watching impeachment proceedings is like watching a film when you already know how it will end. Except this is a boring film with a bunch of dry politicians pontificating about impeachment and how mean Trump is. No wonder people aren’t interested in watching the show.
